Del Rey’s sister Chuck Grant livestreamed the reading and meet-and-greet on Instagram and told fans the musician had recently tested negative for covid. Grant also told viewers that her sister was remaining six feet away from fans. Many photos show that Del Rey, in fact, did not remain six feet away from fans and unless she and everyone in attendance were tested as they were walking into the bookstore, a negative result really doesn’t matter as she could have contracted the virus anytime after her test was administered.Del Rey previously wore what looks like the same mask during a photo shoot with Interview magazine, where she does appear to be physically distancing from the photographer. Before the book event, Del Rey shared a video of herself along with her crew backstage. In the clip, everyone in Del Rey’s entourage can be seen wearing proper masks while the singer is wearing her mesh mask.NOT LANA DEL RAY WEARING A MESH MASK AT A MEET & GREET pic.twitter.com/3Qcyg5ZDEk

In a second video, Del Rey performs a reading for her book and waves goodbye to dozens of fans who have surrounded her car. Thankfully, everyone appears to be in masks that have been deemed appropriate for reducing the spread of coronavirus, which is still very much a thing regardless of what type of mask a person wears.View this post on Instagram
Even with the mask providing virtually no protection for Del Rey or those around her, the singer still removed it for part of her reading. She also told fans that her next album, which she titled Chemtrails Over the Country Club, will be released either in December or January. Let’s hope the preorder includes a branded full-coverage cloth mask for Del Ray and her fans.[video_embed id='2036170']RELATED: Fashion-forward masks to stay safe and stylish [/video_embed]Many fans commented on Del Rey’s posts following the October 3 event and asked the singer to apologize for her useless mask. “Please address the mask situation... it’s absolutely embarrassing,” wrote a fan. “I’m trying so hard to love you but please wear a real mask,” added another. One fan wrote that the event had to be shut down for safety reasons, writing “Lana...the health department literally had to shut the event down. You literally weren’t wearing a safe mask and there was no social distancing whatsoever. This was not smart. Please don’t do it again. Love you, but please take this virus seriously.”Del Rey shared a third video the following day, which shows the singer wearing a cloth mask while performing a reading from her poetry book. Del Rey appears to be alone in her car while doing the reading. Okay, yes, that seems safe.[video_embed id='2046499']BEFORE YOU GO: These hilarious pet photos are guaranteed to brighten your day [/video_embed]
