On Monday night, Wall Street Journal Magazine held its annual WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards, except unlike the past two years of the pandemic, it wasn’t virtual, it was in-person. The gala honouring the best in art, music, literature, public service and more was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and we can’t get over some of the celebs that were hobnobbing and rubbing elbows.
Canadian Ryan Reynolds chatting up Lil Nas X, Kim Kardashian (fresh from her hand-holding roller-coaster ride with Pete Davidson) mingling with Demi Moore, and Martha Stewart in the middle of it all? That is the energy we didn’t know we needed for the end of fiscal ’21.
A whole bunch of other leaders and beautiful disruptors were in attendance, like Karlie Kloss, Emily Ratajkowski, Kim’s bestie Jonathan Cheban and racecar driver Lewis Hamilton.
While Kim was honoured as a brand innovator, Lil Nas X took home the award in the music category, and Ryan for entertainment and entrepreneurship.
Right before Kim, who was honoured for her work on her shapewear brand SKIMS, gave her acceptance speech, she suffered a near-wardrobe malfunction when the zipper on her SKIMS x Fendi dress unzipped backstage. SKIMS collaborator Kim Jones was on hand to put Kim back into her dress, something the SKIMS mogul joked about as she took the stage.

"Thank you to Kim Jones because I just had a little fashion emergency," she joked. "Thank god I had SKIMS on, or this would have been a very different kind of show tonight."
Demi Moore turned heads with her Fendi velvet pantsuit and bra ensemble. The woman is turning 59 this month. We are gonna need her skincare regimen on our desk by 9am tomorrow, please.

Lil Nas X of course was the king of accessorizing. Look at that puppy purse!

Lewis Hamilton offered a spot of colour, wearing a bright blue sui; almost as bright as his smile!

Meanwhile, domestic goddess Martha Stewart gave reporters tips to the fountain of youth. “Green juice, homemade green juice from the things I grow," she revealed. Martha, we’re on it!
