Call it the Ryan Seacrest effect, call it a conscious life choice, or call it a new awakening. Whatever it is, Kelly Ripa has confirmed that she is no longer drinking and it may be better than any wine-induced dreams she’s ever had. Yup, Kelly is officially sober and she said "it’s amazing."Ripa made the big reveal on the Jan. 20 episode of
Live with Kelly and Ryan as the pair were discussing the declining wine sales in America. It seems Americans bought less overall vino in 2019, which marks the first drop in 25 years. And, as per Ripa, that could be in large part because she’s just stopped drinking the stuff.“Now, I believe this is because I quit drinking, that I caused this dip. I have influenced the market,” she joked. “I’m not saying I’ve driven people out [of drinking alcohol], I’m saying I stopped buying wine and there’s a 25 per cent dip.”Ripa actually revealed that she stopped drinking in 2017 after Seacrest joined the series as the new co-host. His appointment came after former co-chair Michael Strahan
left the morning show without telling Ripa, something she spoke openly about in the months following his departure. (And we thought

What does that tell you?” Seacrest laughed.“Exactly… It’s amazing,” Ripa said.“It feels like Ryan has always been here because he’s been such a big part of my life off-camera for the past 15 years,” the host
also said last year about working with Seacrest.
Ripa didn’t really launch into a list of reasons why she decided to give up drinking and perhaps she never will. The 49-year-old host has been known to explore healthier lifestyle choices and share them with her viewers, like in 2015 when she
opened up our eyes to the benefits of a high-alkaline diet that she says “changed her life” and the “way she thinks about food.”The
Live host isn’t the only one who is singing praises about a sober lifestyle these days. Celebs like Bradley Cooper, Robert Downey Jr. and Rob Lowe have been clean for years, while younger stars like Lucy Hale, Daniel Radcliffe and Kelly Osbourne have spoken openly about their journeys to stop drinking.
Live With Kelly and Ryan airs weekdays at 9 a.m. ET on CTV.[video_embed id='1880200']Brad and Jen reunite'[/video_embed]
