It would be sweet to imagine Katy Perry and Taylor Swift becoming good friends now that they finally decided to shake it off and end their feud once and for all over some life-sized hamburgers and fries (and chocolate chip cookies). After all, they have a lot in common given their passionate fanbases, gruelling schedules, and inability to go anywhere without people obsessing over them. However, according to Perry, the pair still aren’t that close despite finally ending their long-running beef.“We don’t have a very close relationship because we are very busy, but we text a lot,” Perry recently told Stellar Magazine (as per The Daily Telegraph), while promoting a performance in Australia. “I was impressed by her documentary [Miss Americana] because I saw some self-awareness starting to happen and I saw a lot of vulnerability. I was really excited for her to be able to show that to the world: that things aren’t perfect, they don’t have to be and it’s more beautiful when they aren’t.”The 35-year-old American Idol judge (who recently collapsed on set following a gas leak) also spoke about finally ending her feud with Swift, and what it took to bring Katy-Cats and Swifties together in that memorable “You Need to Calm Down” music video that Swift released last summer.“Even though it was difficult, it was important to make that appearance in the music video because people want people to look up to,” she said. “We wanted it to be an example of unity. Forgiveness is important. It’s so powerful. If you can forgive your enemy, that’s amazing. As difficult as it is!”[video_embed id='1710274']RELATED: Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have finally ended their feud[/video_embed]So basically the two are cool, but fans probably shouldn’t hold out hope that Taytay will be a bridesmaid at Perry’s upcoming wedding to Orlando Bloom. Speaking of, Perry also opened up about her big day, which the couple were forced to postpone last year in order to get the venue they wanted. Perry revealed that she’s actually pretty chill about the wedding itself, and for her it’s all about celebrating the love she shares with another human being.“I call myself a ‘bridechilla’ as opposed to a bridezilla,” she said. “Orlando and I are united with our approach. It’s not about the party, it’s about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Because it’s really great and then it’s really hard. Those are just the facts when you’re with someone who challenges you to be your best self.”
It may not be about the party for Perry, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a lavish fete full of “Fireworks.” Insiders told Us Weekly that there are not one but two shindigs planned — which kind of sounds like the epitome of a party, doesn’t it? “They’re going to have one local wedding party, and the other will be a destination wedding party,” a source told the publication.Just spit-ballin’ here, but how sweet would it be if Taytay showed up at just one of those nuptials to perform a song? “Lover” would make for a pretty killer first dance, wouldn’t it? It sounds kind of far-fetched, but fans can only hope.[video_embed id='1910052']RELATED: Taylor Swift literally becomes the man in her new music video[/video_embed]
