Johnny Galecki and girlfriend Alaina Meyer welcome a son

It’s a boy! Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki and girlfriend Alaina Meyer just welcomed their first child, a son named Avery, and the couple is over the moon. Meyer and Galecki announced the news on Instagram last night, each posting a sweet photo of the newborn’s tiny hands in theirs. “With full and grateful hearts we welcome our beautiful son into this incredible world,” Galecki’s post read. “Thank you for all of your love and support.”

This is the first child for Galecki, 44, and Meyer, a 22-year-old actress and model. The pair have been dating since the summer of 2018, often sharing photos of their travels and time together. Galecki previously dated his Big Bang Theory co-star, Kaley Cuoco, for several years, remaining friends after their break-up in 2009. Galecki even attended Cuoco’s 2018 wedding to Karl Cook, calling the ceremony “beautiful” and wishing the couple well. It seems he’s found happiness of his own with Meyer, who he’s referred to as his true love, “a treasure” and one of his “favourite people” in various social media posts. Now that’s the happy ending we all wanted for Leonard!Meyer had previously shared plans to call the child Avery in a sweet Instagram post that spelled out the name in silver balloons. “My amazing mama and auntie put together the most amazing celestial shower,” she shared, captioning a series of photos that showed the expectant mother surrounded by family and friends. “I am so grateful for the sweetest, most amazing night, celebrating Avery.” The post went on to say that her “sweetheart” Galecki had sent several surprises to the baby shower, adding to the celebration. Nice move, Dad!
