There’s a lot that could have set Garner off in the finale (spoiler for anyone else who has yet to finish The Office, which is something that needs to be prioritized). Maybe it was Pam secretly selling her and Jim’s house so they could move to Philly and Jim could work at Athlead. Maybe it was Dwight firing Jim and Pam so that they would get a severance. It could have been Erin finally meeting her parents, or Nelly finally getting the (stolen) baby she’s always wanted. Maybe it was Andy landing his job at Cornell and being okay. Undoubtedly, Jim pulling his best prank ever and surprising Dwight with Michael on his wedding day made Garner emotional. Or it’s possible the Golden Globe winner held it all together until the final moment when the camera zoomed in on Pam’s painting of the office building, the same painting that Michael proudly bought when he showed up at her art show. “There’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things,” says Pam in the final line of the series. “Isn’t that kind of the point.” Sobbing. We have news for Garner and her kids. Re-watching all nine seasons of The Office and experiencing the finale a second, third, fourth and fifth time does not result in less crying. Fool me once, strike one. Fool me twice, strike three.Mindy Kaling, who was a writer, producer and actor on The Office, replied to Garner’s sweet video with a heart emoji. Clark Duke, who appeared on the final season of The Office, left two heart emojis on Garner’s post. The Instagram account Comments By Celebs also caught Jenna Fischer, who starred as Pam Beesly, commenting on Garner’s post and agreeing that any moment with Dwight and Pam was worthy of tears.Fischer and her party planning nemesis and real-life bestie Angela Kinsey launched The Office Ladies podcast in 2019 and have been re-watching The Office on their weekly series. Just last month, fellow Office alum Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin Malone, debuted An Oral History of The Office podcast. This is good news for Garner and her kids, as well as every other Office fan who wants a space to talk about their favourite show in-between re-watch sessions.
