New year, new beard.

Yes, the beard that launched a thousand memes. Was it hot? Was it pathetic? According to the internet, both and so much more.

But you see, we were left scratching our heads because that beard looks eerily familiar. Like we'd seen it before.

Did it seem so sinister because we were still reeling from Ted Cruz's beard, which looks kinda similar?

If Abed from Community taught us anything, it's that a beard is fine, but a goatee is evil. It's a sign we're in the darkest timeline.

You see—heroic figures have beards. Villains have goatees. Villains like Jafar.

And that's when we realized. That's it. Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of the great nation of Canada, looks exactly like the late Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber.
