You, yes YOU, could be the next star of the hit Netflix series The Crown. The producers have just announced a worldwide open casting call. There is only one real requirement: ya gotta be a ginger.

More specifically, they are looking to cast an actor to play the teenage Prince Harry. In their casting notice shared on Twitter, they write they are looking for actors between the ages of 16 and 20 who bear “a strong physical resemblance” to the young Duke of Sussex, as he would have appeared in the late 90s/early aughts.

If you’ve never acted before in your life, fear not, dear thespian, for the casting notice indicates “no previous professional acting experience” is required to be considered and even land the coveted role.

Hopefuls are instructed to submit their details, along with a selfie and a short 30-second video describing something – anything – they are passionate about doing. Let’s see - we love the TV show Suits, we have an affinity for men in uniform, we love podcasts, and we often enjoy sitting down with Oprah for tell-all interviews. HOW DID WE DO?

If you’re considered, the notice reminds you that filming will begin next month, November, in the UK, so make sure you can actually clear your schedule for that time. You have until the 14th of October next week to get your submission tape in. If you land the role, you will undoubtedly be the talk of the town for the sixth and final season of the award-winning series that explores the hidden and often dramatic behind-the-scenes stories of the British monarchy from the early 20th century up until contemporary times.

You will also star alongside some newly-cast actors set to play young Prince William and Kate Middleton. Deadline reports that Ed McVey will portray William in his later teen and early adult years, while Meg Bellamy will portray a university-age Kate Middleton. In case you’re intimidated, don’t be, they’re newcomer actors as well.

Season 5, which is set to premiere on November 9th, will focus on the not-so-clandestine affair of King Charles III and Camilla – portrayed by Olivia Williams – who, ICYMI, is now the queen consort.

Best of luck to all Harry hopefuls!
