Bruce Paltrow died in 2002 at the age of 58 after a long battle with throat cancer. Paltrow produced the TV series The White Shadow and St. Elsewhere. His final project was the 2000 film Duets, which starred his daughter. Paltrow married actor Blythe Danner in 1969 and the couple were married until his death. In addition to Gwyneth, they share son Jake Paltrow, a screenwriter.Bruce Paltrow’s ashes are buried under the tree in the photo shared by the Shakespeare in Love actor, which sits on his daughter’s property. During a 2019 interview with Dax Shepherd and Monica Padman on Armchair Expert, the Oscar-winning actor revealed that she chose the spot where her father is buried to marry her second husband, Brad Falchuk, in 2018. “His ashes are buried under this beautiful tree at my house and we got married there, right near my dad… kind of on my dad,” joked Paltrow.Paltrow shares both children with ex-husband and Coldplay front man Chris Martin. The couple’s son, Moses, is named for his late grandfather and bears the middle name Bruce. In 2005, Martin and his band released the single “Fix You,” which he wrote for his then wife. The couple met only weeks after Paltrow’s father had died and Martin wrote the song about helping his new girlfriend survive the grieving process. "'Fix You' was about him trying to put me back together after my dad died," Paltrow told Howard Stern in 2015. "I think it's pretty nice."[video_embed id='2045219']RELATED: Gwyneth Paltrow celebrates turning 48 in her birthday suit [/video_embed]The actor shared a close relationship with her father and frequently praises him on social media and in interviews, speaking not only about his work in the film industry, but for being a loving and stable force in her life. During a 2019 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Paltrow recounted a conversation she had with her father after she became the "it" actor during the late 1990s. "I think, incrementally, I started just behaving a little strangely or a little weird," said Paltrow, who explained that her dad quickly sat her down for a talk. "He said, in his inimitable Brooklyn way, 'Um, you're kind of turning into an a---,'" laughed Paltrow. “It ended up being this incredibly important moment in my life where he really burst a bubble for me where I could see, ‘Oh, this is really dangerous that everyone is wanting to remove obstacles [for me].’”The new photo is one of the rare instances Paltrow has shared a picture of her two children. In April, Paltrow posted a picture that was familiar to many parents who suddenly found themselves pivoting from working outside the home to spending their working day inside with their children. Sharing a snap with Apple and Moses, Paltrow captioned the picture “WFH with some moral support.”
