Everything we know about Alec Baldwin’s eight children

Reality TV shows featuring large families, and celebrity families, have been a big hit in the past. Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, The Osbournes, and more have proved to capture viewers attention. It looks like Alec Baldwin wants a piece of that pie.

While appearing on Kelly Ripa’s Sirius XM podcast, “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” the “Departed” actor revealed that when it comes to his eight kids - especially considering that he currently lives with seven of them – he and wife Hilaria are seriously considering forming their own reality TV show. We can picture it: “Hilaria and Alec Plus Eight!”

Ripa planted the seed in Baldwin’s head by saying, “When I think about you and Hilaria and your seven young kids — now I know what you’re going to say but just go with me — this has reality TV written all over it.”

Baldwin then replied that he and Hilaria “have thought a lot” about it.

The “Malice” actor, who may be facing more charges in connection to the on-set “Rust” shooting that resulted in the death of Halyna Hutchins, then told Ripa that being a father to seven young children consumes his everyday thoughts, his finances, and even his movie choices.

“You know, in the old days I’d jump on a plane and go to LA and do a movie here or a few episodes of ‘Will and Grace’ I did for a while. You know, different things like that,” Baldwin admitted, revealing that if he tried that today he’d need, “12 plane tickets.”

“You know, nannies, kids, my wife, I need like 11,” he revealed. “They don’t even have 11 seats in the business class section of the plane.”

He even had to turn down a movie role because shooting was based in Vancouver BC. “I’m not going to Vancouver for five months. That’s not happening,” he admitted.

So who are his eight children? Let’s take a closer look.

Ireland Baldwin is his eldest

Before Hilaria, Baldwin was married to Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger. The two welcomed daughter Ireland Baldwin in October 1995 but they separated a few years later.

In 2007, when he was in the middle of a nasty custody battle with Basinger, Alec famously left a terrible voicemail for Ireland, who was only 11 at the time,  in which he called her a "thoughtless little pig." After his message leaked, a media firestorm ensued. These days, however, father and daughter joke about it. At the "The Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin," Ireland referred to her dad as a "big old ham" and said he wouldn't ever say anything of that nature to her again because she would "kick his a**," per Us Magazine. 

Ireland has recently become a mother herself, making Alec a grandfather.

Carmen Gabriela Baldwin

Alec and Hilaria’s first child, daughter Carmen, was born in August 2013, making her now 10 years old.

Rafael Thomas Baldwin

In July 2015, Alec’s first son, Rafael, arrived. He is now 8. 

Leonardo Ángel Charles Baldwin

September 2016 is when Leonardo came into the world, just over a year after Rafael was born. We are loving the duo’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” vibe… or, you know, the Italian masters. Whichever.

Romeo Alejandro David Baldwin

May 2018 is when Romeo was welcomed into the brood, however Hilaria revealed that for the next few years, she suffered two pregnancy losses.

Eduardo Pau Lucas Baldwin

Those pregnancy losses saw their end when Eduardo was born in September 2020. Hilaria wrote on Instagram that while she will “always be sad” about her miscarriages, she felt like a “lucky mama.”

María Lucía Victoria Baldwin

A mere four months after Eduardo was born, the couple welcomed María via surrogate.

Ilaria Catalina Irina Baldwin

September 2022 saw the birth of the eighth Baldwin child, Illaria.
