There are plenty of celebrities endorsing social distancing these days, from Justin Bieber and Ellen DeGeneres to Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga. One actress who isn’t getting into the whole 'stay inside to flatten the curb' effort, though? Former Lost and Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly. The 40-year-old posted a picture of a full cup of tea after dropping her kids off at gymnastics on March 19, and the internet was not impressed.“#morningtea. Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp. They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing. #businessasusual,” she wrote on Instagram. Then, when some fans questioned why she would put others at risk, she explained, “I am also immune compromised at the moment. I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.”

Lilly currently lives with her father, who is absolutely immunocompromised with stage-four leukemia. That doesn’t seem to be a concern for the actress though. In fact, it seems like she feels as though that makes her an authority on the subject of COVID-19. “There’s ‘something’ every election year,” she wrote to another comment. “Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu.”So in other words, she probably won’t be participating in Gal Gadot’s next celebrity singalong. Maybe Lilly got her fill of being isolated on an island when she starred on Lost, or perhaps she believes that her Wasp costume will save her and her family. Regardless, she’s definitely going against the advice of many doctors, health professionals, and political leaders by continuing life as usual.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Gal Gadot and famous friends sing ‘Imagine’ to inspire hope[/video_embed]“I’ve always been a fan of yours. But I’m sorry, you are being extremely selfish and irresponsible with people’s lives. Screw the experts and the world health organization, I’d like a peaceful cup of tea,” one person wrote. “The privilege. The idiocy. The danger to society. Wow,” added another. Meanwhile people took to Twitter to further share their disbelief over the actress’s comments. This isn’t the first time Lilly has publicly questioned government officials. She’s posted openly about her anti-facial recognition software stance and has alluded to George Orwell’s famous book 1984. But as people have been pointing out online, this is definitely a different situation than unwanted ads popping up on your Facebook timeline.Meanwhile, as many scientists around the world urge governments to move faster and put extra rules in place in order to stop the unprecedented spread of Covid-19 and avoid thousands of more deaths, Lilly is going pure Dharma Initiative and taking a page from Mad-Eye Moody’s book by preaching constant vigilance. “It's unnerving… Let's be vigilant right now. And kind,” she wrote. “Watchful and gracious — keeping a close eye on our leaders, making sure they don't abuse this moment to steal away more freedoms and grab more power.”And so the world continues to weigh in…[video_embed id='1925828']RELATED: Canadians urged to take social-distancing seriously when returning from abroad[/video_embed]
