Eddie Izzard has announced her pronouns and is ready to be "based in girl mode from now on." The British comedian confirmed in a recent TV appearance that she prefers she/her and is "feeling positive" after a little transition period. We feel that anytime someone is comfortable being themselves, that is a very positive thing.

Izzard appeared on Sky Arts' Portrait Artist Of The Year, a British TV competition that searches for artists who excel at landscape and portrait paintings (can we get this very cool sounding show in Canada please?). During Izzard’s appearance, she posed for artist Curtis Holder, who won the competition with his painting of the comedic legend.

Twitter user @spamvicious shared a clip from Izzard’s appearance on Portrait Artist Of The Year, where the comedian confirmed her preferred pronouns. "I tried to do things that I think are interesting, and this is the first program I’ve asked if I can be she and her. A little transition period," Izzard told Holder.

Izzard went on to say that disclosing her pronouns has been a positive experience. “Well it feels great, because people just assume that they just know me from before but I’m gender fluid. I just want to be based in girl mode from now on."

“Well, if it feels right,” said Holder. “It feels very positive,” said Izzard. “One life, live it well.” Louder for the people in the back, Eddie.

Izzard’s Wikipedia has already been updated since her appearance on the painting competition last week to reflect her pronouns. Many fans of the comedian have responded positively on social media to her pronoun disclosure.

Izzard has amassed a massive following over her almost 40-year career in entertainment. The comedian has appeared in several stage, film and TV productions, including several plays on Broadway. Izzard is best known to North American audiences for her roles as Roman Nagel in Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen and for playing Dr. Abel Gideon in the TV series Hannibal.

A political activist and supporter of the Labour Party, Izzard has previously campaigned for a seat on the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party.

In addition to her comedy and political involvement, Izzard has also become known for marrying philanthropy and running. In 2009, Izzard ran the equivalent of 43 marathons in 51 days to help raise money for Sport Relief. Since then, Izzard has taken part in several back to back marathon events to help raise money for charity. In January, Izzard plans to tackle 31 marathons in 31 days while also performing 31 stand up gigs online at night after finishing a day of running. Proceeds from virtual ticket sales and fundraising efforts will go towards charities as part of Izzard’s ‘Make Humanity Great Again’ tour. We are in awe and exhausted just from thinking about Izzard’s January schedule.
