It’s Ryan Reynolds’ 44th birthday, and he isn’t just spending the day enjoying his wife’s awesome photo-shopping skills. Nope, the Deadpool actor is also basking in all of the well-wishes from his celebrity friends (and enemies), probably while enjoying a Nat’s pizza or some other VanCity fave and a glass of Aviator Gin.First of all, it seems only appropriate that Canada was one of the first “celebs” to officially say happy birthday to the star (Canada counts as a celebrity, doesn’t it?). Our country’s official Twitter account took it upon itself to speak for all of its citizens when it “popped” into Ryan’s feed bright and early on the big day. Naturally, Ryan responded the he was feeling the love (in emoji form, of course). It didn’t long for real celebrities to follow suit. People like fellow Canadians William Shatner and astronaut Chris Hadfield, along with late-night host Jimmy Fallon and Million Dollar Listing personality Ryan Serhant, also took time out of their busy days to show the actor some birthday love. Would it really be Ryan Reynolds’ birthday if his frenemy Hugh Jackman didn’t also acknowledge it? Jackman didn’t disappoint when he shared a throwback photo of Reynolds playing the drums back when he was a kid. In fact, Ryan is barely recognizable in the shot, in which he’s wearing a hideous yellow button-up. “That shirt was a cry for help,” Reynolds responded. “I was the Buddy Rich of bad drumming,” he also added on his Instagram Stories with a screenshot of the original tweet. Reynolds didn’t just spend the morning sharing snaps of well-wishes to his Instagram stories (although he did plenty of that). He also took to his own Twitter account to remind people that he isn’t the only famous person with an October 23 birthday. He actually shares the day with Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke… or at least he did until he official moved it. While Reynolds has been a bit tight-lipped (at time of press, anyhow) about what his plans for the big night are, fans do know what he spent the day before his birthday doing: casting his first-ever vote in the U.S. election. “This is my first time voting in America. I’d like to thank my wife Blake for making my first time so gentle and loving,” he joked on Instagram on October 22. “It was super scary at first, then exciting and now I’m a little tired. But proud. #VoteEarly.”Happy birthday, Ryan. That first time can be rough, so here’s hoping you get some well-earned rest. Or maybe just an awesome day with your family.[video_embed id='2061842']Before you go: Blake Lively’s Photoshopped shoes go viral[/video_embed]
