Supermodel Bella Hadid just got candid about her struggles with anxiety and insecurity in a new Instagram post with several slides that show her face flushed with tears. In some pictures, the background setting seems to suggest a hospital room, with one slide appearing to show a wired monitor on her forehead, and another appearing to show an IV drip in her arm.

Writing in part to her 47 million followers that this state is "pretty much my everyday, every night for a few years now," she started off her emotional post about her journey through mental health struggles by crediting Red Table Talk host Willow Smith with the inspiration and courage to speak her truth.

Tagging Willow in her caption, Bella wrote directly to her, “I Love you and your words . It made me feel a little less alone and that’s why I’d like to post this.”

In the first slide of the post, Bella includes a video of Willow speaking to camera, talking about how every single person on the planet has insecurities, but that is something we’re taught, and if we come together and recognize everyone’s struggle, we can see it through.

“That feeling of thinking that you’re good enough or being insecure about your art - is natural - but at the same time, I feel like it’s taught,” Willow says in the clip.

“All humans are different, every single human has something so special and unique to offer. And people forget that everyone is basically feeling the same way: lost, confused, not really sure why they’re here. That anxiety, like, everyone is feeling that - and trying to cover it up in some way.

Willow finishes off by saying, “We’re gonna come together in our flaws. In our insecurities, in our joy, in our happiness, and accept it all as beautiful and natural.”

That’s when Bella, 25,  bravely opened up about her own journey and spoke to her followers, getting candid about real life versus social media appearances.

“Social media is not real. For anyone struggling , please remember that. Sometimes all you’ve gotta hear is that you’re not alone. So from me to you, you’re not alone. I love you, I see you, and I hear you.”

She then went on to describe the turbulence of her journey, writing, “Self help and mental illness/chemical imbalance is not linear and it is almost like a flowing rollercoaster of obstacles… it has its ups and downs, and side to sides. But I want you to know, there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and the rollercoaster always comes to a complete stop at some point.”

In parentheses, she added an aside: “(There is always room for it to start up again, but for me it’s always been nice to know that even if it’s a few days, weeks, or months, it does get better, to some extent, even for a moment. )”

She then finished off her emotionally raw and vulnerable post by writing, “it took me a long time to get that in my mind, but I’ve had enough breakdowns and burnouts to know this: if you work hard enough on yourself, spending time alone to understand your traumas, triggers, joys, and routine, you will always be able to understand or learn more about your own pain and how to handle it. Which is all that you can ask of yourself. Anyways. Not sure why but it feels harder and harder to not share my truth on here. Thank you for seeing me and thank you for listening. I love you.”

Although commenting on her post has been limited, that didn’t stop both her sister Gigi Hadid and Willow herself from commenting and commending her for speaking up against the stigma around mental health.

“I love you!” sister Gigi exclaimed.

“Your honesty and tenderness heals so many,” Willow wrote, adding a red heart emoji at the end of her comment.

This isn’t the first time Bella has made her mental health journey a priority. Back in January of this year, she posted on IG, after a lengthy absence, that she had purposefully taken time away from social media in order to focus on her well-being.

The slides in that post included a white board with instructions on healing, self-help books, and pictures of her enjoying horseback riding, nature walks, and crystals.

“I took some time away to reflect and learn about myself in a way that would be too much to explain at the moment,” she wrote at the time, “but with time I will express. The memories and fortune I came back with are pure wisdom, a closer relationship with myself & my spirituality, a sense of self-love that I have always lacked, a few great friends, and these books that saw me through. I found myself, my strength and my light again.”
