Star Trek: Discovery star Anthony Rapp and another unidentified man are taking Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey to court over allegations of sexual assault and battery back when the men were 14 years old.According to paperwork that was filed in New York state court this week, the civil lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages for emotional distress that Spacey allegedly caused Rapp and a man known only as C.D. in the mid-1980s. Spacey has not responded to various outlets’ requests for a comment on the situation. The filing comes three years after Rapp first accused the actor of inappropriate behaviour and unwanted sexual advances.Rapp, who also starred in Rent, said he “sustained psychological injuries, including but not limited to, severe emotional distress, humiliation, fright, anger, depression and anxiety; a severe shock to his nervous system; and has been caused to suffer mental anguish, emotional and psychological damage," reads the lawsuit, as per People.Meanwhile C.D. revealed that when he was 14, Spacey also sexually assaulted him. “Prior to intentionally and voluntarily attempting to anally sodomize [C.D.], defendant, Kevin Spacey, through his words and acts, intentionally caused the plaintiff, C.D., to become apprehensive that a harmful and/or offensive bodily contact was about to occur," the lawsuit also states.Rapp first went public with his claims against Spacey in October 2017 in an interview with BuzzFeed. After the allegations Spacey was let go from his Netflix series, House of Cards, and he was also cut from the film he was working on, All the Money in the World (Christopher Plummer replaced him).Following that Spacey was also involved in a criminal case in Massachusetts after he was accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old man in a bar in 2016. Spacey pled not guilty to the charges of felony indecent assault and battery, and the case was dropped after the man in question failed to testify. Then in December 2019 another such case against Spacey was dropped after the accuser died (reportedly of cancer) and the alleged victim’s estate filed a notice for dismissal. Since then Spacey has largely remained out of the spotlight. The last movie Spacey worked on, Gore, may never be released. Although Netflix paid big bucks for the biographical drama based on the American writer and intellect’s life, the movie itself has controversial content including “several scenes that would almost certainly strike audiences as difficult to absorb given Spacey’s involvement. Some scenes explore Gore’s complicated and unorthodox attitudes toward transactional sex and sex with very young men, for example, and a graphic scene involves two transgender sex workers,” writes BuzzFeed. In 2017 following Rapp’s allegations, Spacey addressed the situation with a statement, saying that he didn’t remember the incident but he apologized for what “would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour.” He then continued, “and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.”[video_embed id='5649038532001']BEFORE YOU GO: 20 more people accuse Kevin Spacey of sexual harassment[/video_embed]
