Fatigue, headache, chills, muscle and joint aches and swollen lymph nodes can all be the result of Lyme disease. If left untreated, the symptoms can worsen to include facial palsy, arthritis, irregular heartbeat, nerve pain, and inflammation of the brain and spinal cord. When treated in the early stages, people can typically recover from the symptoms of Lyme disease, but because it is so difficult to diagnose, many end up suffering for months or even years before being properly treated.Recently, a handful of celebrities suffering from Lyme disease have come forward with their own diagnosis in an effort to help spread awareness about the condition. Avril Lavigne spent years suffering from Lyme disease and almost died before finally being diagnosed and treated, even starting a foundation to help raise funds for the study of Lyme disease. Justin Bieber, who suffered from fatigue and weight loss, endured months of headlines about the popstar being on drugs before finally receiving his Lyme disease diagnosis. Ben Stiller, Shania Twain, Kelly Osbourne, Jamie Lynn Sigler, and Yolanda and Bella Hadid have all spoken publicly about their experiences with Lyme disease.Even while battling the painful disease, Schumer has continued to create new content throughout quarantine. Earlier this summer, Schumer celebrated the release of her docuseries Expecting Amy, which chronicled the comedian's difficult pregnancy as a result of her hyperemesis gravidarum diagnosis (watch now on Crave). Schumer has also filmed two seasons of Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, a cooking show she films at home with her husband and professional chef, Chris Fischer.
