Graduating in 2020 looks a little different… to say the least. The on-stage speeches, graduation gowns, crowds full of teary-eyed family members (and of course the classic video montage set to “Friends Forever” by Vitamin C) that we’ve come to expect, have been replaced with largely virtual experiences. But that’s not to say the class of 2020 has been left to come up with their own means of celebrations — countless celebrities have come together to send a big congratulations to grads, Adam Sandler included. The Uncut Gems star took to Twitter Wednesday to personally address the class of 2020 with an epic graduation throwback pic, and a hilariously relatable story about sitting at home, staring at his parents, on the night of his high school graduation. Apparently, Sandler was ahead of his time when it came to appropriate quarantine protocol. He wrapped up his anecdote with a heartfelt message, “...get ready to go save the world. We need you. Love, The Sandman.” [video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Dude straight up starts breakdancing during graduation ceremony. Naturally, fans didn’t miss an opportunity to reply to the star’s Twitter tribute with some references to his latest movie, Uncut Gems (which, for the record, is basically the movie equivalent of a two hour long, skillfully captured panic attack). The movie, which was widely praised by critics and audience members alike, had no shortage of high-stake, violent interactions, and Sandler actually did many of his own stunts for the role. According to a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the star was left pretty scraped up after some of the film’s more intense and chaotic scenes, one of which even had him violently choked. Talk about a tough day on the job… literally. [video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Adam Sandler still has mad love for 'Billy Madison.'[/video_embed]
