Drake Bell rose to fame in 2004 at the age of 15 on the Nickleodeon series Drake and Josh, where he starred alongside Josh Peck. During the run of that show, including The Amanda Show, in which he starred from 1999-2002, the on-set dialogue coach was Brian Peck (no relation to Josh).
In 2003, Peck was arrested for child sex abuse and in 2004 was convicted, sentenced to 16 months behind bars and ordered to register as a sex offender. His victim went unnamed at the time.
In a new trailer for Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Drake Bell opens up about his experience with Bell.
The upcoming Investigation Discovery series, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, will have Drake speaking for the first time in his own words about what happened on-set to him over 20 years ago. Variety obtained a press release from Investigation Discovery which reads, “The clip reveals that former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell will be sharing publicly, for the first time, the story of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Brian Peck, his former dialogue coach who was convicted in 2004 for his crimes against Drake and ordered to register as a sex offender.”
How brave of Drake Bell to come out and name his perpetrator. Now only if more would come out and expose Hollywood.

The teaser trailer doesn’t include Drake speaking, however we do see him emerge from the shadows and take his seat in the spotlight right before the image cuts to black. Preceding his unveiling, we hear others who worked at Nickleodeon wondering who the victim was, with one interviewee asking, “It wasn’t dealing with anybody on the shows or anything right?”
Drake Bell was the anonymous child actor that was sexually abused by Brian Peck… that just broke my heart.

The Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV series will air in four parts, and will also explore the Dan Schneider scandal. In 2022, we reported on the details contained within iCarly star Jeannette McCurdy’s memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” in which she alleges Nickelodeon offered her $300,000 of “hush money” to stay quiet over Schneider’s alleged abuse. Schneider was never arrested or charged with a crime.
The Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV series airs March 17 and 18 on Investigation Discovery.
