Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and NFL star Aaron Rodgers are at odds after accusations the football player made about the 2024 Oscar host in a recent interview.

On January 2, Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he discussed with the eponymous host the impending release of more than 200 names associated with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (who died by suicide while in prison in 2019). In the interview, Rodgers flat-out stated that Kimmel would be one of the names revealed to be an Epstein associate.

“A lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, are hoping that doesn’t come out,” Rodgers said in the clip posted to X , before continuing, “I’ll tell you what, if that list comes out, I definitely will be popping some sort of bottle.”

Understandably, Kimmel took major offence to Rodgers casting aspersions on his integrity and seemingly confirming he was associated with a convicted sex offender. So late on January 2, Kimmel took to X to call out the accusations as false.

In a no-holds-barred post, Kimmel wrote, ““Dear A**hole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality.”

He continued, “Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court. @AaronRodgers12.”

Rodgers' accusations seem to come out of nowhere, but they may be motivated by previous jokes Kimmel has made about the quarterback on his show.

Almost a full year ago, Rodgers made a similar appearance on The Pat McAfee Show where the Epstein list was also the topic of the day. Kimmel played that clip during his show in March 2023, and called the quarterback a “tin foil hatter” and then laughed, advising the athlete to “revisit that concussion protocol, Aaron.”

It would seem Rodgers took that joke to heart, now attempting to associate Kimmel with Epstein.

We previously reported that Rodgers' political leanings and beliefs that have landed him in hot water more than once. During his short-lived engagement to Hollywood actress Shailene Woodley, a source told People that “They disagreed on a lot of things” when it came to political issues.

Rodgers also found himself in the middle of a media storm when he lied about his vaccination status during the height of the COVID-19 global pandemic, telling reporters he was “immunized” when he wasn’t, and he later tested positive for COVID-19. The NFL fined him over $14,000 for that lie, per the LA Times

Meanwhile, fans are weighing in on the clash between the funny man and the Green Bay Packers quarterback, with some saying Kimmel should take Rodgers to court, and others saying the comedian should be able to take a joke.
