Everything you need to know about newly-engaged couple Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi

It turns out that Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and longtime boyfriend Jake Bongiovi, son of 80s rocker Jon Bon Jovi, definitely do not give love a bad name. Millie announced their engagement via Instagram with a lyric from Taylor Swift's “Lover” this morning.

“I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all 🤍,” she captioned the post, which included a black and white photo of the couple cuddling, laughing, and Millie’s engagement ring clearly on display.

Jake also posted about the happy betrothal on his official Instagram, with two other loving pictures of the couple from the same photoshoot. He captioned their announcement, “Forever 🤍”

No longer livin’ on a prayer, the couple, who have been together for almost two years, have kept their relationship pretty much on the down-lo, refraining from gushing about each other online or in interviews for the most part. Millie, who has grown up before our eyes, is 19 and Jake is turning 21 this year. Jake posted a car selfie with him and Millie, sparking the initial romance rumours, as he captioned the post with a "Bff <3," and she replied with a "BFF 🦄" in the comments. Both of them have puckered lips, so as far as we’re concerned, this is an implicit confirmation that they were just making out.

Later that month, they were caught strolling through New York City holding hands and looking inseparable,  as they carried their poodle Winnie in the handbag.

February, 2022

For Millie’s 18th birthday, the pair dressed up as Barbie and Ken, posing for her official Instagram. At this point, there was still no official confirmation from either camp that they were GF/BF but we couldn’t help but notice how comfortable they looked together. 

March, 2022

A month later, the British actress killed two birds with one stone, by making their relationship not only Instagram official, but red carpet official. The couple attended The Baftas in London together, and they definitely struck a pose with her in a black Louis Vuitton gown that was paired with long matching gloves.

May, 2022

The couple attended a Harry Styles concert together in London, and if we had any doubt in our minds that they were in it for the long haul, they made sure to share a passionate smooch and post it on the ‘gram. She even captioned the post “alexa play love of my life by harry styles.” 

And we were off to the races after that.

The couple went off on a long holiday  and Millie’s IG was a source of ‘shipping for the ‘shippers. If you want another pic of the pair smooching and canoodling in front of majestic mountains, blue skies, and green pastures, they got you covered.

The cute IG posts basically gave us life from here on out. “Always b my baby <3,” Millie  captioned an Instagram snap with Jake as they shared an ice cream sundae.

October, 2022

Jake joined Millie at the Netflix premiere of Enola Holmes 2, and they struck quite the post on the red carpet, laughing and holding hands. Of course, they found their way onto the ‘gram. Millie captioned it “the man,” but refrained from adding “the myth, and the legend” (thank God).

During a WIRED’s “Web’s Most Searched Questions” interview, Mille was faced with the burning-hot Q on every ‘shipper’s mind, “How did Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi meet?”

“We met on Instagram, and we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?” she smiled. Hey, if it can work for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, why not them?!

February, 2023

For Millie’s 19th birthday, Jake took to his IG to gush about his girlfriend, writing the caption to a beautiful carousel of their selfies, “Another year around the sun together happy 19th to the girl of my dreams. I love you more than words can describe. Everything about you is golden down to the core ❤️”
