Warning: the following discusses body image and pregnancy loss.

“Bang Bang” singer Jessie J shared some choice words for trolls trying to target her for her body and shape, and we are loving her message. Posting to her Instagram Stories on March 31, the British songstress posted a lengthy statement, revealing that someone tried to body-shame her by telling her she looked pregnant.

That comment is loaded with cruelty because the “Domino” singer publicly announced in a heartbreaking IG post back in November that she suffered a miscarriage

Jessie (real name Jessica Ellen Cornish) didn’t take the trolling lying down. “Stop commenting on people’s weight. Anyone. Just stop. Or telling someone they look pregnant for sure, or you look skinny, just anything. Just stop.”

“I have gained 10 pounds in the past 6 months and I feel great,” she wrote in the IG story which has since expired (E! News managed to screencap the post before it disappeared). “It might stay or it might not or I might gain more. Who cares?! I don’t care as long as I feel good and I’m healthy.”

She didn’t name or tag the person who commented that she looked pregnant, but she did address it, hinting that it might be someone she knows in real life, writing, “Someone literally just asked me if I was pregnant. ‘You look pregnant.’ They also knew of what I went through last year and told me their thoughts on that and how I should’ve handled it.”

She added, “So strange and so damn bold, I would never.”

“Not cool to just say or comment on someone else’s body,” she finished the statement “Unless they/I tell you or ask your opinion, it’s not one that’s needed or helpful. Wild that some people don’t know that.”

In November of 2021, Jessie J posted on Instagram about suffering a miscarriage right before a concert in LA. “I'm still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be okay,” she said at the time.

Her Instagram stories for April 1st are filled with short videos of her lifting weights and working out, where she clearly is enjoying her strength training as she performs deadlifts, flies, chest presses with a big smile on her face and grooving to the music.

Lots of Jessie’s fans are taking to social media to show her love and support
