What in the actual heck is happening with Kanye West and Julia Fox?

A show of hands: if you had an awesome second date with a new person you’re seeing, how likely are you to share a slew of intimate photos and blog about it? And now a quick follow-up: how many celebrities have you seen do exactly that?

Welcome to another day that ends in “y” in the world of Kanye West. Just as his ex, Kim Kardashian, was carrying on with Pete Davidson in a bikini in the Bahamas, West was courting Italian-American actor Julia Fox (Uncut Gems). Oh, and Fox blogged all about it.

In a strange new, 200-something word piece for Interview magazine (you know, the one co-founded by Andy Warhol back in 1969), Fox pulled back the curtain on West’s dating game—complete with personal and intimate photos.

“I met Ye in Miami on New Year’s Eve and it was an instant connection,” the almost 32-year-old shared. “His energy is so fun to be around. He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night. We decided to keep the energy going and fly back to New York City to see Slave Play.”

Fox then revealed that even though the rapper’s flight landed an hour before the curtains lifted, he was there on time, which impressed her. They also hung out with playwright Jeremy O. Harris and the cast. “After the play we chose to do dinner at Carbone which is one of my favorite restaurants. Obviously,” she added. (Is it? Are we supposed to assume that it’s obvious since the pair previously went to Carbone in Miami for their first date?)

The actor then revealed that during dinner, West decided to direct an impromptu photo shoot while people ate, which seems pretty on-brand for him given that he’s had a photographer following him around to document his life for a potential future project.

“The whole restaurant loved it and cheered us on while it was happening,” Fox claimed. “After dinner Ye had a surprise for me. I mean, I’m still in shock. Ye had an entire hotel suite full of clothes. It was every girl’s dream come true,” she continued her post, which was accompanied by photos of her straddling West as he laid on the floor.

“It felt like a real Cinderella moment. I don’t know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date! Everything with us has been so organic. I don’t know where things are headed but if this is any indication of the future I’m loving the ride.”

If you’re wondering WTF is going on right about now, you wouldn’t be alone. One theory is this is all a publicity stunt for West, who is supposedly already working on his next album, Donda 2.

Oh, and did we mention he JUST announced a Yeezy x Gap x Balenciaga collaboration? Balenciaga, as in the very same clothing Fox was wearing on the date she blogged about.

Of course, the publicity doesn’t hurt Fox either. The actor has only appeared in a handful of Hollywood projects so far, including the TIFF-entry Uncut Gems alongside Adam Sandler. Most recently she appeared in director Steven Soderbergh’s latest project, No Sudden Move, alongside Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Toro.

Meanwhile, others have called attention to the fact that this past Christmas, Fox took to Instagram to rant about her ex-husband Peter Artemiev. At the time she accused him of being a “dead beat alcoholic drug addict dad” and revealed that, “This man left me with a 5 month old and a dog and a home and ALL THE BILLS.”

Others are wondering if this is just West’s way to try and get back at Kim. Especially since it was only a month ago that he dedicated his song "Runaway" to the mother of his four children at the Free Larry Hoover concert. "I need you to run right back to me, baby," he sang, adding, “More specifically, Kimberly.”

Adding to the discourse is the fact that Pete Davidson and Julia Fox once did a shoot together for Paper magazine, which brings this whole thing full-circle for all the Kardashian watchers out there.

So… is this all just the next great celebrity stunt, or is it a real-deal dating story about to take off to the next level? You be the judge, but in the meantime, we kind of can’t wait to see what happens next.
