We’re certain that there is a world in which Drake and Rihanna never broke up. Sadly, we’re not living in that timeline. Instead, RiRi appears to be blissfully happy with A$AP Rocky, while Drake is reportedly dating an LA-based Instagram influencer named Johanna Leia.
According to TMZ, the Toronto-born rapper has been spotted out with Leia, a self-styled entrepreneur who, in certain photos, can give off some serious Kim Kardashian vibes. The two have allegedly been together for months and were recently spotted by a news channel’s helicopter, dining al fresco on the first baseline (insert childish joke here) at an empty Dodger Stadium. A source from the team’s organization told TMZ that Drake handed over a generous donation directed to the Dodgers’ in-house charity in exchange for the eccentric dinner date setting.
In addition to the keen-eyed helicopter reportage, Leia herself has been fuelling the dating rumours, posting a story to Instagram that featured Drake’s ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ in the background. She also posted a snap of herself wearing Drake collab merch — a ‘Certified Lover Boy’ sweatsuit we would have killed for back in the darkest days of our WFH lives.
According to TMZ, the rapper has also been getting close with Leia’s family. The influencer has an adorable daughter named Savvy and shares a teenage son, Amari Bailey, with ex-NFLer Aaron Bailey. Amari, who seems to have inherited his father’s affinity for athletics, was named the LA Times’ Boys Basketball Player of the Year and is set to suit up for UCLA in 2022. According to sources, Drake has been coaching Amari on how to deal with his impending sports world fame. Drizzy was even seen attending one of Amari’s high school matches alongside Leia and Michael B. Jordan (as if having your entire school watch you play wasn’t enough pressure).
It can’t hurt Amari’s career to have the Toronto Raptors’ official team booster backing you… plus think of all the free merch. And Amari might one day be in the position to return the favour. Drake’s son Adonis, just three years old, is already showing a love for basketball as well as a natural talent for the game.
