Eddie Murphy’s son and Martin Lawrence’s daughter are dating

Two of Hollywood’s most iconic actors now have something else in common: their kids are head over heels in love. Thanks to an Instagram post over the weekend, fans learned that Eddie Murphy’s son, Eric, and Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin, are a couple.

On July 10, Jasmin wished Eric a happy birthday on the social media platform, revealing in the caption that they’re dating. “Happy birthday, my love! I'm so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side,” the 25-year old wrote. “Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!!”

Eric, 32, thanked Jasmin in the comments. “You’re so sweet. Thank you my baby. I LOVE YOU,” he responded with a handful of heart emojis.

This isn’t the first time the couple has shared photos of themselves, however. Two weeks ago Eric, a writer and voice actor, posted a photo of himself and Jasmin together with the caption, “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU.” He also used the hashtags #myotherhalf and #Iloveyou. At the time, Arsenio Hall weighed in with three clapping hand emojis, showing his approval of the coupling.

Murphy has 10 children, Eric being the oldest, and his youngest being two years old. He and Paulette McNeely had Eric in 1989. Murphy shares his other children with Nicole Murphy, Tamara Hood and Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Spice Girls’ Mel B).

Jasmin, a Duke University grad and actor, is also the eldest in her family. Lawrence had her with his ex-wife, Patricia Southall, in 1996. Jasmin has two half-sisters, Ilyanna and Amara, whom Lawrence shares with his ex-wife Shamicka Gibbs.

Lawrence and Murphy have both had pretty epic careers, but have only starred together on the big screen twice. The first time was in 1992 for the rom-com Boomerang alongside Halle Berry and Robin Givens. They reunited for the 1999 comedy Life, in which two strangers who are wrongfully convicted become friends in prison.

At time of press, neither actor have commented on their kids’ relationship, but Lawrence has opened up about fatherhood and his daughters dating in the past.

“I’ve got good girls,” he told Metro UK in 2011. “My oldest is 15 and she’s a straight-A student. She is very smart. She’s at that age where she’s liking boys, she thinks boys are cute, and when they come to the house I will have that face on. They better watch out.”
