Cardi B criticized for throwing 3-year-old daughter Kulture lavish birthday party with thousands spent on jewelry and toys

Move over pizza parties and pinatas, here comes crab leg towers and a wall of Barbie dolls. Cardi B and husband Offset are being criticized for throwing their daughter Kulture a lavish third birthday party over the weekend, but many of the music couple’s fans are coming to the family’s defense.

Cardi shared several pictures and videos from the party on her Instagram and Twitter accounts, showing off a Disney princess, a pony ride, a ball pit, balloon tunnel and a petting zoo. The kid-friendly party also included a few attractions that were geared more towards parents, including a huge seafood display and a slightly R-rated twerking display by the birthday girl’s parents. 

Cardi and Kulture wore matching pink gowns for the fairytale-themed party, which included a stunning carriage for the birthday girl’s entrance to the party and a matching multi-tiered cake, complete with a carriage and castle design.  

While the party had no shortage of details to delight its young guests, some fans were less than impressed by the lavish setting and the high-priced gifts, including a diamond encrusted charm necklace. “Listen imma live my childhood dreams thru my kids,” wrote Cardi after seeing tweets criticizing the extravagant birthday party. 

The rapper, who is currently pregnant with her second child, was quick to defend her stance, explaining that she wanted a childhood for her children that included more opportunities and experiences than what she was afforded.

Cardi’s desire to give her children more than she had growing up resonated with several of her fans, who were quick to defend the “Up” artist. 

The big question is, how amazing is Kulture’s Sweet 16 birthday party going to be? We would like to put our RSVP to ‘yes’ now.
