No doubt about it, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are in it for the long haul. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony over the holiday weekend, making things official eight months after first getting engaged.
According to Page Six, The Voice coaches married on July 3 at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma—the same place where the couple got engaged back in October 2020. Fans had been speculating about a weekend wedding ever since last week, when People reported that they’d filed for a marriage license that was only valid for 10 days.
While details from the ceremony are still emerging, Us Weekly previously reported the couple would say their vows in a chapel that Shelton built mostly himself in a “tribute to their love.” Meanwhile, photos of the property show a large white tent, pillars covered in garlands and white flowers, and round white tables with umbrellas to shade guests.
While the couple hadn’t announced any official plans to fans in advance, they were pretty open about wanting to get married this summer in a more intimate affair. “I'm afraid if she and I wait until next November, then I'm right back into The Voice cycle again, and I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after, so hopefully this summer,” Blake previously told Today.
Stefani and Shelton began dating back in 2015 after meeting on The Voice. At the time they were both newly single. Stefani and her former husband, Gavin Rossdale, had gone their own ways following 13 years of marriage. Shelton and his ex, Miranda Lambert, also called it quits around the same time—five years after tying the knot.
Aside from occasionally working on The Voice together, Shelton and Stefani have also collaborated musically. Their duet “Nobody But You” climbed to the top of Billboard’s US Country Airplay when it debuted in 2019, and the couple have performed it for fans several times since—including at the Grammys.
Last summer the couple collaborated again on the quarantine single “Happy Anywhere,” which became their second straight No. 1 at country radio. And way back in 2016 they first showered fans with their musical talents on their “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” collaboration.
“Here I am dying from the time I stand on stage, walk out on stage, until that moment hits, because I know on that set list people are going to s--- in their seats when Gwen Stefani walks out here,” Shelton once explained on Zane Lowe’s podcast about having his now-wife join him on stage during a concert.
“It’s like I’m a kid on Christmas morning” he continued. “And so that’s what it’s like for me working with her. It’s just exciting, it really is.”
Sounds like these two really hit the jackpot when it comes to that old work-life balance. Our biggest congrats to happy couple as they start this next stage of their relationship.
