Kanye West 'likes where things are headed' with rumoured new girlfriend Irina Shayk

It looks like Kanye's headed to the rebound line before his ex-wife Kim Kardashian could and he's liking "where things are headed" with rumoured new girlfriend Irina Shayk.

A source told Page Six that West has been interested in dating for a while now and actively pursued Shayk not too long after his split with Kardashian.

“Kanye always had a thing for Irina, so she came to mind early on in his divorce from Kim. He decided to shoot his shot, and it worked,” the outlet's insider shared.

The 35-year-old model is reportedly not "letting a new romance distract her" from making sure that her 4-year-old daughter, Lea, who she shares with ex Bradley Cooper, remains her number one priority.

“Irina is a very hands-on mother and won’t let a new romance distract her from her daughter, so it’s perfect that things with Kanye are very casual and laid-back at the moment,” the source continued. “They’re still getting acquainted, but the spark is definitely there, and Kanye likes where things are headed.”

Another source told Us Weekly that West and Shayk are "in a honeymoon, lovey-dovey phases right now."

“They’re getting to know each other and having a lot of fun. It’s not serious yet, but they like each other a lot," the source added.

An insider told Page Six that Kim is "fine with it" and she just wants West to be "happy and healthy."

Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Versace, Givenchy… Yeezy? Supermodel Irina Shayk may have a new runway to walk if rumours about her dating rapper/fashion designer/former presidential candidate Kanye West are true.

The pair have been spotted together in Provence, France, on a trip that may have been planned to mark Kanye’s 44th birthday. The sighting has sparked speculation that the two might be getting serious about each other.

TMZ, the true knower of all, has said they can confirm "they are 100% romantically together" but "it's unclear how serious they are at this point." The duo's French vacation is the first time that Kanye has been seen out with another woman following his split from Kim Kardashian early this year.

Things began to go downhill — at least publicly — for Kim and Kanye around the time West announced his run for president, granting a slew of only semi-sensical interviews about politics that made people wonder about the state of his mental health. West has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, a subject Kim addressed when the animosity between her and her husband became public via Kanye’s use of social media.

For her part, Russian supermodel Shayk has been linked to soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and actor Bradley Cooper. The two share a daughter, Lea, together. The exes now co-parent Lea on a 50/50 basis in accordance with their work schedules.

Cooper and Shayk have even been spotted together taking Lea to Russian immersion language classes. Shayk calls Cooper “the most amazing dad” saying that they parent 100% together despite not being a couple. 

Kim and Kanye are also said to be handling the whole co-parenting situation well. Kardashian, mother to four children with West, wished her ex a happy birthday this week as well, saying she’d love him for life. 

Even Kanye’s ex in-laws piped up to wish him well on his birthday. Khloe Kardashian posted a photo of herself with Kim, Kanye and Tristan Thompson on vacation, writing, “Happy birthday to my brother for life!!! Have the best birthday Ye! Sending you love and endless blessings!!”

As for the rumoured new couple, Irina and Kanye’s relationship might be in its early stages but the two have actually known each other for more than a decade. She appeared in his 2010 music video for the track "Power" on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
