Tell everyone you know that the BET Award-winning “WAP” now stands for “We Are Pregnant” because last night during the BET Awards, Cardi B announced, in quintessential Cardi fashion, that her and Offset are expecting baby number two!
Offset and the rest of Migos took the stage to perform “Straightenin’” and “Type Sh*t,” and Cardi popped in to feature halfway through in a glittering sequined catsuit that showed off her growing belly. We are digging the Beyoncé-esque baby-bump reveal
To drive the point home, Cardi then took to social media to show off her first official pregnancy photoshoot that seems to show a plaster cast being made of her bump. We. Love. This.
Cardi and Offset already have one child together, daughter Kulture, 2, and you might remember that they announced Kulture’s impending arrival in a similar fashion. Back in 2018, Cardi was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live and wore a beautiful Christian Siriano dress to announce her pregnancy.
Twitter was obviously loving the news of baby #2.
Social media also picked up on something – this timing means that, in all likelihood, when Cardi joined Megan Thee Stallion on stage during the Grammys earlier this year for their iconic duet, Cardi was already pregnant. Do you mean to tell us that she pulled out those intricate dance moves and wore that 18 lbs costume while carrying a baby? Wizardry.
Cardi B really had a baby in the oven while scissoring Megan Thee Stallion during their Grammys performance and I think that’s just iconic

The news of their second bun in the oven comes less than a year after Cardi (whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) filed for divorce from Offset in September 2020, but by November she filed to have her divorce papers dismissed by the court.
Going into last night’s awards, Cardi was nominated for five – best female hip-hop artist, best collaboration ("WAP" with Megan Thee Stallion), viewer's choice award ("WAP" again) and video of the year, twice (for both "WAP" and "Up") – while Migos had a best group nomination at this year. Cardi ended up winning best collab and video of the year.
Congrats to the happy family! Please make an album about this!
