Many of us are dying to know what goes on within that uber-selective celeb-exclusive dating app Raya. Who is hooking up with who? Who is falling in love? And who is getting ghosted?
Looks like we just got our answer on the latter: Batman himself, Ben Affleck.
A woman on TikTok, who goes by the username nivinejay recently shared a short video of herself with a caption overlay: “Thinking of the time I matched with Ben Affleck on Raya and thought it was fake so I unmatched him and he sent me a video on Instagram.”
Then she switches to apparently the aforementioned Ben Affleck video. Speaking directly to camera, the real Ben asks, “Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It’s me.” Unless Nivine Jay is a master at deep fakes, this is incredible.
Page Six reported that the Oscar-winning actor and director, who previously was married to actress Jennifer Garner, and has rekindled his friendship with former fiancé Jennifer Lopez, has been a user of the dating platform since 2019.
So Ben Affleck gets ghosted just like the rest of us! Although we can’t say we approve of him “Tinder-gramming” (tracking someone down on Instagram if they don’t match with you on a dating app). Guys, you need to stop with this.
This isn't the first time we've heard about a-lister Raya-ghosting. Last year, actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore revealed that she was stood up by a man she met on Raya as well.
She told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, “I got stood up, and I didn’t match with anyone. And my friends gave me this sort of bloated sense of false confidence. They were like, ‘You should try it. You will do great.’ It was a car wreck.”
Drew may be able to laugh at herself, but so far, it would seem social media is doing the laughing for Ben.
And so the cycle of infinitely fascinating, somewhat inappropriate and ever-memeable Ben Affleck news continues.
