Matthew Perry is the latest celebrity to be outed for using the exclusive dating app Raya, after Ben Affleck earlier this week.
A 20-year-old TikTok user with the handle @kittynichole — whose real name is Kate Haralson — matched with 51-year-old Perry, who is currently engaged to fiancée Molly Hurwitz, 29.
Haralson claims that she matched with the Friends actor on the membership-only dating app last May when she was 19-years-old.
She shared the footage of herself FaceTiming with Perry and captioned it, “When you match w Matthew Perry as a joke on a dating app and he facetimes you and plays 20 questions with you.”
In the short video, Perry is smiling at Haralson and asks, “Do you always play with your hair this much?” She giggles and responds, “I guess so.”
Haralson told Page Six that she posted the video on TikTok this week to expose how older men in Hollywood are “taking advantage” of younger women on the dating app.
“A lot of people were saying I’m a bully and mean for posting this, and it made me feel kind of bad, but at the same time, I feel like a lot of guys in Hollywood are talking to all these young girls and it’s something that I think a lot of people should be aware of,” Kate Haralson told the outlet on Thursday.
She said that when she matched with Perry, he asked to move the conversation from the elite app to FaceTime almost immediately.
Haralson told the outlet that she’s matched with celebrities before but doesn’t “ever talk to older guys.”
She decided to talk to Perry because she thought it would be “funny,” adding that she “was not really thinking anything of it.”
The Gen Z-er said she recognized Perry but had “never even really watched Friends.”
The pair decided to play 20 questions together to get to know each other better and she said none of the questions were sexual but she did “feel uncomfortable at times” because she was only 19 and Perry was a lot older than her.
“I don’t think he minded that,” she said. “It kind of felt weird talking to someone my dad’s age and it just felt not right, especially when he knew how young I was.”
Haralson alleges that at one point Perry asked her, “Am I as old as your dad?” She said that was “weird” and she told him he was only a year old than her father, which she alleged he “laughed off.”
She said she never met up with Perry in person but alleges that he told her, “Maybe one day you can get a COVID test and come over.”
“Honestly, I never really had any intention of posting it, but then I saw that one video, and thought, ‘Oh, this would be funny,'” she said, in reference to Nivine Jay’s TikTok video of Affleck. “I didn’t expect it to blow up as fast as it did.”
Haralson also said that she’s in touch with Jay via DMs and she told her to just “ignore all the hate comments,” but Haralson ended up taking her TikTok video down after less than 24 hours.
She said she felt bad for posting the video because Perry was a “nice guy.”
Haralson added, “Honestly, it’s not really OK for these older guys to be talking to such young girls.”
Our Twitter queen, Chrissy Teigen, agrees with Haralson.
"I agree celebs shouldn’t be making these creepy desperate video replies on Raya," she wrote on Twitter.
But she also thinks the women are wrong for posting the receipts on TikTok. “But it’s tacky to release private messages. Ya both wrong, congrats,” Teigen added.
Perry has not addressed Haralson’s now-deleted TikTok as of this writing.
