Cardi B is living up to her claim that “If I'm fly, and daddy's fly, then so is the kid” by launching a kid-friendly capsule collection to go with her Reebok line which originally dropped back in the fall of 2020. The “Mommy and Me” collection of sneakers features Cardi’s signature kicks in two new monochromatic designs done up in colours perfect for the warmer weather (that we’re still waiting for). The Rose Gold and Aqua Dust shoes launching later this week will come in sizes for adults, kids, and babies — all inspired by Cardi's love for her toddler daughter, Kulture.

“Known as the metal of love, rose gold is shiny and feminine but strong and durable, much like Cardi’s love and affection for Kulture,” reads the press release for the collection’s launch (via Page Six). “The Aqua Dust colorway ties back to the aquamarine stone which represents clarity, calm and relaxation: three adjectives that Cardi uses to describe being a mom,” it reads. “Aquamarine is also the breathing stone which, to Cardi, is illustrative of how she feels now that Kulture is in her life.”

Reebok

Reebok announced the forthcoming release of the collection on Mother’s Day this past weekend, sharing a photo of Cardi decked out in head-to-toe rose gold, including a pair of the new Reeboks (and two dozen stuffed teddy bears).

The capsule collection came with its own video trailer, featuring Cardi doling out parenting advice based on her personal experiences as a mom. “Once the baby’s here,” she says to expecting parents, “you just know, it comes naturally.” As for child-rearing, Cardi’s philosophy boils down to spending as much time as possible with your kids, even after a long, tiring day at work— plus: “Whatever the hell they want, give it to them.” There is no rationing of ice cream at Cardi’s house.

The pop star, who says her “baby girl changed everything within her life” also had a few words of love and affection for her own daughter. “You’re beautiful. You’re smart. You’ve got successful parents. The whole world loves you,” she says in the video. “Ain’t no way you can’t make your dreams come true.”

Cardi’s “Mommy & Me” collection launches May 13 at 10am ET (and you know it’s going to sell out — again).
