She’s back! Our Twitter queen Chrissy Teigen has returned to the social media platform to share all her thoughts in under 280-characters after saying farewell to Twitter less than a month ago.
“Turns out it feels TERRIBLE to silence yourself and also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day and also lose like 2000 friends at once lol,” she tweeted on Friday morning.
She added, “I choose to take the bad with the good!!”
The clap back queen joked that she spent weeks “just saying tweets to shampoo bottles," which we 100 per cent believe.
Teigen initially quit Twitter on March 24 and completely deactivated and deleted her verified account. She wrote a long Twitter thread explaining her reasoning for leaving the platform for good.
The model cited that Twitter was adding too much negativity to her life and needed to leave for her own well-being.
“Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends.”
She continued, “But it’s time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”
In seven more tweets in the thread, Teigen explained that she’s always been seen as “the strong clap back girl,” but she’s just not that person anymore, adding, “My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as!”
Teigen has quit and come back to Twitter before, but this one seemed like the final goodbye.
Her 8.9 million followers have welcomed Teigen back to Twitter, with many letting her know how much they missed her.
Earlier in April, Teigen's husband John Legend spoke on behalf of her on his Twitter account. "Chrissy would like me to tweet that if you were already prone to needing attention, you will absolutely experience extreme vaccine side effects," he wrote, adding, "And she misses y'all."
Welcome back, Chrissy. Twitter just wasn't the same without you and your commentary.
