Maria Bakalova brings Paris Hilton as plus one to Oscars after-party, stars step out more casual than ever

Just because Vanity Fair called off its annual star-studded Oscars after-party on Sunday and Elton John's was replaced by a virtual show due to the COVID-19 pandemic, doesn't mean there was no partying to be had.

Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova attended a little after-party at the Sunset Tower Hotel, with a surprising guest – Paris Hilton. The blonde duo walked in holding hands.

At another star-studded party in Bel-Air, Drake – in a black sports coat with gold necklaces and diamond earrings – was flanked by models Sara Sampaio and Shanina Shaik, while Diplo (in a very dressed down jeans and jacket combo) and Luka Sabbat were also in attendance and Doja Cat performed.

The biggest bash, in fact, may have been actress Andra Day's COVID-safe space. Nominated for Best Actress for her rousing performance as Billie Holiday in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, Day may not have won the gold but she celebrated away, hosting her own party at private members-only club Spring Place in Beverly Hills.

The outdoor party had the capacity for just 80 people, and had mandatory on-site rapid COVID tests for all attendees.

Those included the cast of Day's film, Lee Daniels, Tyler James Williams, Garrett Hedlund, Miss Lawrence, Rob Morgan, Winnie Harlow and Emma Roberts.

Swapping her stunning gold Oscars dress for a custom Vera Wang piece and her heels for black Ugg slippers, Day owned the night.

She's not the only one who offered a statement look. Rihanna, who was at the Sunset Tower Hotel, got casual too, in a green Vetements jacket, jeans, and t-shirt with a Versace scarf and white Amina Muaddi heels.
