The days of KimYe the couple are over, but at least these two are proving they’re on the same page when it comes to co-parenting. Nearly two months after Kim Kardashian first petitioned for divorce, Kayne West has agreed to her terms in a newly filed response.

TMZ first reported the news on April 12, revealing that West had filed a response that appears to be “basically a mirror image” of the petition that Kardashian filed on February 19. In that original document, the 40-year-old asked for joint legal and physical custody of their four children, North, 7; Saint, 5; Chicago, 3; and Psalm, 1.

She also included a reminder that the pair have a prenup, asked the court to waive spousal support, and requested that both parties pay their own legal fees.

West, 43, is on board with that financial arrangement. Of course, considering that the performer’s net worth skyrocketed to a reported $6.6 billion last month and that Kardashian is now officially considered a billionaire, they both seem to be doing pretty well in the financial department.

For now, even though West and Kardashian seem to be on the same page as parents, it’s worth noting that just because they may receive a 50/50 split doesn’t mean that the kids will be with each parent half of the time. The pair will more likely work out an arrangement between themselves and then have the court approve it. As TMZ notes, it’s also a good bet that Kardashian will continue to have the kids most of the time.

Meanwhile, despite the legal proceedings moving forward as smoothly as they can, various outlets have reported that West and Kardashian aren’t exactly on speaking terms as they consciously uncouple. According to Page Six West has reportedly asked that Kardashian not be there when he comes to visit the kids, and he even changed his numbers and told his ex to contact him through his security.

"Kanye is not doing well," a source also told People days before Kardashian filed. "He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and there's nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim."

News that the couple could be heading for a divorce first surfaced in the new year following months spent living apart and plenty of rumours that things weren’t good. In 2020, West’s mental health became a constant story in the press (especially on the heels of his failed presidential run), while Kardashian dealt with her own stresses including being a mother-of-four, starring in her reality show, managing her various businesses, and working to obtain her legal license.

Still, the separation came as a shock to fans who were hoping they’d work it all out. West and Kardashian wed in May 2014, which means their marriage was just shy of the seven-year mark when Kim filed for divorce.
