Jennifer Lopez has been getting comfort from ex Marc Anthony since A-Rod split

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony made beautiful music together (literally) as well as a couple of cute kids (the pair’s teen twins, Emme and Max). Now JLo is said to be looking to her ex-husband once again, this time for support during her breakup with former fiancé Alex Rodriguez.

Anthony, who was married to Lopez from 2004 until their 2011 split (followed by an official divorce in 2014), has reportedly been Jen’s rock as she filmed her latest project in the Dominican Republic over the last few months.

"Jennifer is doing well,” a source close to the star told People. “The kids have visited her and they make her the happiest. Jennifer and Marc Anthony have a great relationship. Having Marc around while she has had to work abroad has been very comforting for Jennifer."

Lopez recently wrapped the film Shotgun Wedding, a movie she both produced and starred in alongside Josh Duhamel, Jennifer Coolidge, Lenny Kravitz, and Cheech Marin. Famously, it was the movie that Armie Hammer was forced to drop out of after allegations about his abusive behaviour surfaced online. 

This isn’t the first time that the two former flames, Lopez and Anthony, have dropped jaws due to their friendly, flirty behaviour.

At the 2016 Latin Grammys, Lopez presented her ex with the Person of The Year Award after performing "Olvídame y Pega la Vuelta" together, a dramatic duet of a love song, the title of which translates to “forget me and don’t turn back.” The performance ended with a kiss.

As for her relationship with A-Rod, People’s sources tell the magazine that it ended because “There are too many issues that are unresolved. She has been pretty miserable and didn't think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex." Saying, "She insisted on it."

One of those unrespolved issues was (unsurprisingly) trust. Rumours about Rodriguez’s flirtation with reality TV star Madison LeCroy plagued the final few months of JLo and A-Rod’s relationship. And while the couple are sticking to their story that infidelity didn’t lead to the demise of their engagement, Lopez "won't tolerate the fear of it in the air between them," said another of the magazine’s insiders. 

In addition to the trust issues, the pandemic also took a toll on the relationship. "They both liked spending more time together as a family,” said the insider, “but it was difficult to keep that special spark when they saw each other every day."
