Rihanna wore see-through pants and now we want see-through pants

Oh Rih, style icon, queen of inclusive makeup, enchanting songstress eternal. Whenever Rihanna does something, we inexplicably are drawn to it and wonder if we too, as mere mortals can aspire to such greatness. Usually, the answer is no, but that doesn't mean we still don't get the urge from time to time. This week, it was when the singer wore see-through pants to her mom's birthday dinner. Could this be a spring/summer trend coming to a resto near you?
Speaking of trends, Hollywood A-listers aren’t shying away from combining facemasks and sunglasses when out, too. Some of our fave street style stars did just that, including Jodie Turner-Smith, Gigi Hadid and Jessica Alba, and more. While not as daring as sheer pants, it's something we could probably pull off safely during a trip to Shoppers Drug Mart. Scroll on to see what all your fave celebs, including Rihanna, were wearing this week.
Gigi Hadid
Gigi was snapped out with baby Khai, who’s about seven months old now, in New York. The mama and model looked comfy but cool in a yellow sweatsuit and tufted bucket hat, along with white squoval sunnies and a fuschia mask.
Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson
The new parents took a solo stroll masked up in Soho. Jodie, whose trailer for Anne Boleyn, a new TV series where she portrays the Tudor queen, dropped this week, and the star looked particularly on point with her oversized plastic sunnies, black mask and denim.
Rihanna
Rihanna showed up to a birthday dinner for her mother at Pastis in sheer (!) Supriya Lele pants with a Saint Laurent leather blazer and studded Bottega Veneta gloves, and white heels. She looked perfect, but it isn't surprising.
Hailey Bieber
Is going out to San Vicente Bungalows, a new-ish, members-only haunt in Santa Monica, essential? Not in my world. But Hailey was there this week, masked up at least, looking like pure fire in a cream oversized blazer and black heels with rhinestone detail around the ankle.
Rihanna (again)
Rihanna also dined out again this week, though she was at Nobu and in a bold red leather blazer, loose distressed denim and black loafers. ‘Tis the season for blazers with nothing underneath.
Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid
Covid kept Courteney and her partner, Irish musician Johnny McDaid, separated for months, but the two are finally back together in LA. They were spotted leaving a date night at Nobu, Courteney in a black and indigo denim combo and Johnny in cargos and a black crewneck.
Selena Gomez
Selena’s filming of Only Murders in the Building continues in New York. This week, she was photographed between takes in a wooly teddy coat worn over a plaid skirt and leggings. Those chelsea boots are a must-have for spring on the Eastern Seaboard.
Megan Fox
While LA stars love their leggings and crewnecks, they’re also partial to slippers in public. Megan’s no exception. The actress was out in LA this week in a cropped cardigan, light-washed denim and, yup, floofy slide slippers.
Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba, on the other hand, opted for more sleek footwear. The star slipped into a pair of black heeled leather booties along with a floral mini dress and black blazer while shopping in Los Angeles.
Heidi Klum
Heidi announced via Instagram that she’s replacing Kim Catrell in the Sex and the City reboot ths week. She’s obv stylish, and here’s a good example. But if you checked the date, you’ll have noticed it was uploaded April 1, April Fool’s Day, and the model quickly made a follow-up post clarifying that it was all a joke.
Diane Keaton
Diane has always had a strong sartorial sense and she reminded us this week when she stepped out in LA in a plaid mask, wide-legged denim and long black blazer. Noteworthy buckled footwear, too.
Ashley Roberts
Each week, I think Ashley Robert’s fits can’t get any cheerier, and then she goes and does something like this. A bright yellow sweater with a cherry on top!? I’m into it.
Alessandra Ambrosio
Like Ashley, model Alessandra seems to be using clothes to lift her mood. Her chevron knit top, fitted jeans and tennis shoes were perfectly suited for an LA spring.
Demi Moore and Rumer Willis
Demi was out for some fresh (masked) air with daughter Rumer Willis and both opted for a casual and seasonally appropriate sweatshirt with tights. Rumer is either up to speed on the latest socks and sandals trend, or simply a bit cold. Either way, carry on, you look great.
Emily Ratajkowski
First-time mum Em Rata is signalling that now’s the time to wear your belted coats. Out for a stroll in NYC this week, she expertly matched some gold Kendra Scott jewellery with her caramel boots that matched the leather piping on her outerwear.
Olivia Palermo
When you’re NYC’s sartorial sweetheart, even your everyday runabout wear is a chance to make a statement. Olivia’s ribbed sweater and double-breasted button-up blue coat paired well with the chunky loafers.
