We can't stop thinking about this bonkers Madonna photoshop scandal

No, this isn’t news about another movie remake, but Madonna, it’s alleged, did once star in a modern photographic version of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Back in 2015, when the multi-talented singer was promoting her new album ‘Rebel Heart’ she shared an image on Instagram that one TikTok user is claiming features Madge’s face photoshopped (badly) onto her body. Photoshop, it would seem, is not one of Madonna’s multiple talents. 

Australian Amelia M. Goldie recently shared the photo that Madonna Instagrammed six years ago on her TikTok page, claiming that the original was hers (and originally featured her own twenty-something face). Goldie even has the receipts, which she showed off in her post, comparing the two photos side-by-side. The visual is pretty damning (as if the bad Photoshop work wasn’t incriminating enough).

After Goldie’s post went viral, picking up thousands of comments and criticism of Madonna, followers did some digging and found that, despite Goldie having reached out to complain, the photo the star had posted was still up on her account (you can see it here... for the time being).

Chatting with BuzzFeed, Goldie said that she originally believed the photo to be a joke — until she saw that it was up on the singer’s official Insta page. “I tried to reach out via Instagram to her team twice, to no response,” she told the site. “I [would] definitely laugh and say I’m flattered, but of course that I wish I was credited! I think if you're going to play somebody else's body off as your own, they deserve to be mentioned. But no hard feelings!" Goldie says she remains a Madonna fan despite the alleged theft. Her favourite track is ‘Hung Up.’

And while she may not have credit from the Material Girl or her team (who are probably more than a little red-faced right now) what Goldie does have is a really solid story to dine out on. “I’ve been told it’s a great ‘party flex,’ which makes me laugh,” she said to BuzzFeed. “I told it at a job interview and they loved it.”
