In 1991, Demi Moore sent shockwaves around the world when she posed nude for the cover of Vanity Fair while pregnant with Scout, her second daughter with then-husband Bruce Willis, showing that pregnancy was beautiful, powerful, and sexy. Now, her youngest daughter, 27-year-old Tallulah Willis is taking a page out of her mother’s history book as she just released a gorgeous photograph of her posing in the nude to her official Instagram.
Posing for a series of snaps by photographer Tyler Shields, the striking pose sees the founder of the Wyllis fashion line curled up in the fetal position, seemingly in a blissful state of sleep, while long blades of green grass swirl around her.
The series of photographs (10 images and videos per post spread out across three posts) also feature her lounging in black lingerie on a sofa, smiling in a bathtub, singing Avril Lavigne’s classic jam “Sk8er Boi,” snuggling up to her skaterboy boyfriend Dillion Buss (his IG is full of skateboard tricks!), and a visit from her sisters Rumer Willis and Scout Willis.
The posts and pics seemingly celebrate the end of an era: looks like she’s moving out of her house. “I say goodbye to these walls, within whom love has bloomed, friends have turned family, animals have left us and joined us, empty space and fearful flounder birthed an unknown delight of interior design,” she wrote in the third series of pics. “To each and every soul that passed through that doorway, that saw not just my evolution from girl to woman, but a space made a home - I thank you I love you and I’ve needed you.”
She continues, “I’ve been at my lowest point in these walls, asking voiceless questions that I shudder at the memory of. I blamed the house for my hurt, and I desired to flee.”
Tallulah has recently been open about these moments of “hurt” and her “lowest point,” including the three years where she didn’t speak to Demi after her mom relapsed from 20 years of sobriety.
“It’s like the sun went down and like, a monster came,” she told Jada Pinkett Smith during an episode of Red Table Talk. “I remember there’s just the anxiety that would come up in my body when I could sense that her eyes were shutting a little bit more, the way she was speaking. Or she would be a lot more affectionate with me if she wasn’t sober.”
Tallulah also went into detail about their estrangement on her Instagram, writing in May of last year, “I didn’t talk to my mom for almost 3 years, and during that shattered time this day would transport me from fragmented pieces to absolute dust. I remember tearing up driving to work upon hearing a radio ad that cheerily recommended which ‘perfume Mom would absolutely adore.’ I digested the entire celebratory nature of the day as an insensitive slight to MY pain and MY story.
Their estrangement came on the heels of Demi’s split from then-husband Ashton Kutcher, something which Demi shared in her autobiography Inside Out, writing that he encouraged her to drink while suggesting that alcoholism wasn’t actually a disease.
Tallulah has also seen her fair share of struggles, revealing last year that she struggled with body dysmorphia and an eating disorder; her recovery from which inspired her to create her fashion brand Wyllis.
To that end, she capped off her series of Instagram posts, writing that she is, “A woman in love, fighting for joy and happiness in each day, speaking louder than I ever thought I could. So I will take what I need and leave the rest with you sweet home for there is so much more life to be lived.”
We can’t wait to see her new digs!
