Steve Harvey can’t find anything wrong with Michael B. Jordan

Steve Harvey wanted to dislike his daughter’s boyfriend Michael B. Jordan but he literally can’t find anything wrong with him. We think the rest of the world could agree with that too. 

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (weekdays at 10 a.m. on CTV2), Steve shared his opinion on Lori’s boyfriend, MBJ, and he only had good things to say even though he tried really hard to dislike the actor.

“So your youngest daughter is dating Michael B. Jordan,” Ellen said on Monday. “I actually knew that was happening a while ago because Michael B. Jordan texted me and asked Portia [de Rossi] and I to help him surprise her for her birthday to get horses for them to go riding. I thought, ‘Isn't he just the greatest?'"

According to Steve, he's never really approved of any of Lori's boyfriends. We're looking at you Future *eyes emoji*.

"You know what," Steve responded, "I have tried not to like him. I have tried to find something wrong with him that I could dig in and go — 'cause I done got rid of [Lori’s past boyfriends]. All of 'em. Some of them snuck in the back door on me and lasted a lot longer than I wanted it to."

Steve said that MBJ gained his approval because he’s “such a good guy.”

"But this guy, is such a good guy, man," he added of the Black Panther actor. "He is one of the nicest guys. I've met his father. I've sat up with him, we've talked for hours. I just can't find nothing wrong with him!"

The Family Feud host admitted that he’s “hoping this lasts” because “this is a really, really good guy.”

"Most guys, I say I can jump on 'em and take 'em out, but he just looks like a real ass-whooping in the making. So I'm just hoping they make it, you know," he joked.

Steve has been singing MBJ’s praises basically since the couple went public. Last month, he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and said that he is “pulling for him.” He also spoke about the extravagant Valentine’s Day the Creed actor planned for Lori.

The 34-year-old actor surprised Lori by renting out an entire aquarium so they could see some turtles because that’s his nickname for his GF. MBJ calls Lori “turtle,” and she calls the Hard Ball actor “nugget.” He set up a romantic dinner for two inside the aquarium and he gifted her with a certified slip showing her that he purchased stock in Hermès in Lori’s name.

Steve was thinking the same thing as the rest of us: how can MBJ top his first Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend? “Good luck, homie, because you know, Valentine’s comes every year. I don’t know if you know how this works or not but I don’t know how you’re gonna top that. But good luck, partner,” he said while laughing

Harvey did say that the gesture was sweet and romantic while approving of his daughter’s boyfriend. “I’m happy for him. He’s a great guy. Met his father and everything.” he said. “But that was a lot. I don’t know where he’s going from here. So hopefully, you know, maybe he’ll make Creed 4, 5 and 6."

Lori and MBJ first sparked dating rumours in November when they stepped off a plane in matching sweatsuits in Atlanta. The celebs, who both live in Los Angeles, were in Buckhead to spend Thanksgiving at Steve's mansion. After weeks of speculation from fans and everyone on social media, Michael and Lori went public with their relationship in early January.
