Well that escalated quickly. On Tuesday night, alt-right conservative pundit Candace Owens and “Up” rapper Cardi B faced off on Twitter, with both of them threatening legal action against the other, after Owens spoke with Tucker Carlson on Fox and disparaged Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” performance at the Grammys over the weekend.

After Owens said that Cardi and Megan’s performance amounted to, “the destruction of American values and American principles,” and that the popularity of them as celebs is akin to “weakening America […] It feels like we are looking at corrosion, like we are about to see the end of an empire,” Cardi quote-tweeted Owens' clip to show just how unbothered she is by the criticism. “Yaaaayyyyyyy WE MADE FOX NEWS GUYS !!! Wap wap wap,” Cardi wrote.

That clearly set Owens off, who seemed upset that she wasn’t tagged in Cardi’s brush-off. “Just @ me next time, directly,” Owens tweeted. “You are a cancer cell to culture. Young black girls are having their minds poisoned by what you are trying to package and sell to them as ‘empowerment.’”

After a lot of back-and-forth between the two, Owens snapped at the “Bodak Yellow” rapper that, “At your worst, you are naked, shoving your vagina into another woman’s vagina while thrusting atop her.”

That’s when Cardi decided to get fierce and found an alleged old tweet of Owens to point out the hypocrisy in Owens' stance. The alleged old tweet in question read, “Yes, my husband did cheat on me with my brother. Yes, he said no when I asked to join them.” Their feud went red-hot really quick after that, with Owens threatened legal action for what she called “a photoshopped tweet.” Cardi clapped back saying she will counter-sue for being accused of fabricating the tweet.

Cardi (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) has been joking and retweeting her fan’s support on the matter ever since, reminding parents that it is their job to monitor what their kids watch on TV, and that all of Owens’ attacks have led to a boost in “Up” and “WAP” streams.

Megan Thee Stallion definitely agrees with Cardi on that point as she took to Twitter to remind everyone that no one was forced to tune in to their Grammy performance.

“Before I go… y’all be acting like people force y’all to look at **t you don’t like,” the Grammy-winning “Savage” rapper began. “If you like puppies follow puppy pages , if you like food follow food pages, if you like bad bitches follow me. SIMPLE K BYE.”

This isn’t the first time Tucker Carlson and Fox have tried to come for Cardi B and Megan’s hit song “WAP” (big surprise there!). Last summer, Carlson had a near on-air meltdown when the video was released, calling it “garbage.”

Owens, for her part, has made headlines in recent years for her pro-Trump conservative views. After Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, Owens refused to believe Meghan’s claims of racism, insinuating that Meghan wasn’t Black enough to experience racism. She has also called George Floyd, who died after a police officer kneeled on his neck, a “thug.” She has also stated in the past that racism in America doesn’t exist because she was never a slave.

So let’s get this straight – Fox pundits don’t like rap music? I, for one, am shocked.
