Britney Spears posts rare photo with her teenage sons

Britney Spears has been back in the headlines recently following the release of the FX documentary Framing Britney Spears (available now on Crave), which explores the highly controversial conservatorship the famed popstar has been under for more than a decade. The horrific treatment of Spears by the media during her teens and 20s is now being seen under a different lens, garnering sympathy and long overdue apologies, but the singer appears to be keeping her focus where it’s always been, which is on her sons.

On Monday, Spears shared a photo of herself with sons Sean (15) and Jayden (14). The trio appear to be posing while out for a hike and kept things safe with their masks. Although it’s difficult to see how the young teens have changed since their last public picture with their mom, one thing that is clear is Spears’ love for her boys.

“It’s so crazy how time flies .... My boys are so big now!!!! I know … I know … it’s very hard for any mama especially a mama with boys seeing them grow up so fast!!!!” wrote Spears next to the picture of her beaming with her sons. “Talk about enough to make you go to your knees ... GEEZ!!!! I’m extremely lucky because my two babies are such gentleman and so kind that I must have done something right!!!!”

Spears said that she hasn’t posted any pictures of Sean and Jayden for a while because “…they’re at the age where they want to express their own identities and I totally get it .... But I went out of my way to make this cool edit and guess what .... They’re finally letting me post it!!! Now I don’t feel left out anymore and I’m gonna go celebrate .... Oh shit I guess cool moms don’t do that ... Ok I’ll just read a book instead.” She’s still a cool mom to us.

Spears only occasionally posts about her sons on social media and rarely shares pictures, instead opting to provide her sons with as much anonymity and normalcy as possible. Last September, Spears sent a joint birthday wish to her sons, celebrating Sean’s 15th birthday on September 14 and Jayden’s 14th birthday on September 12th. “My two lil men’s birthdays are this week!!!!!! You guys are getting older and so big and are waaay cooler than me !!!!!,” wrote Spears next to a picture of a red nightscape. “I love you both to the moon and back…..and I hope all of your bday wishes come true and more!!!!!”

The last picture Spears posted of her boys before this week was also during their birthday month. On September 13, 2019, Spears shared a throwback snap of herself on the beach with Sean and Jayden as toddlers. “Oh how they’ve grown... Mamma loves you guys very very much !!!! May you get all your bday wishes and more,” wrote Spears.

Just over a month before, Spears posted a more recent photo with her sons during a trip to Disneyland. The former Mouseketeer enjoyed a day at the happiest place on earth, where we assume her old job at least earned her a free Fast Pass, along with her two preteens. Although Spears is in heels in the first picture with Jayden and Sean and is wearing sneakers in this week’s new pic, it’s clear just how much the boys have grown in the past two years. “Great time at Disneyland today but I don’t remember ever getting that wet on splash mountain!!!” wrote Spears. “Anyhow my boys are older now, so they don’t like their picture taken ever... so I was thrilled today when they said SURE!!!!! Such a great place!!!!!”

According to Oxygen, Spears shares a 30/70 custody arrangement with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
