Steve Harvey says his daughter’s boyfriend Michael B. Jordan ‘is not the sexiest man alive’

Michael B. Jordan broke hearts around the world when he announced earlier this year that he was in a relationship with Steve Harvey’s daughter Lori. Now, Steve is finally sharing his feelings about his daughter’s boyfriend and what he thinks about their relationship. 

The 64-year-old Family Feud host shared his thoughts during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night. “Let’s be clear about something; he is a nice guy, but he is not the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ to me at all,” he said. Ouuu, ouch, Steve! Be nice!  

When Kimmel asked him who the "Sexiest Man Alive" is in his opinion, Steve had an obvious answer. “Me! All these people I’m paying for, hell, if that ain’t sexy, what is?” he joked. “I’ve never been attractive. I knew that. That’s why I had to come up with all these damn jokes.”

Steve stopped joking for a second to say that he actually does like MBJ. “This kid … I like him. I’m pulling for him,” he said.

MBJ did Valentine’s Day big this year for his girlfriend. The 34-year-old actor surprised Lori by renting out an entire aquarium so they could see some turtles because that’s his nickname for his GF. MBJ calls Lori “turtle,” and she calls the Black Panther actor “nugget.”

Michael had the place decorated with rose petals and candles and even had a romantic dinner for two set up inside the aquarium. When they returned to their hotel, there were dozens of roses and candles, but that’s not all! To end their first Valentine’s Day together, the Hardball actor gifted his girlfriend with a certified slip showing her that he purchased stock in Hermès in Lori’s name.

Steve thought the same thing as the rest of us: how can MBJ top his first Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend? “Good luck, homie, because you know, Valentine’s comes every year. I don’t know if you know how this works or not but I don’t know how you’re gonna top that. But good luck, partner,” he said while laughing

Harvey did say that the gesture was sweet and romantic while approving of his daughter’s boyfriend. “I’m happy for him. He’s a great guy. Met his father and everything.” he said. “But that was a lot. I don’t know where he’s going from here. So hopefully, you know, maybe he’ll make Creed 4, 5 and 6."

Kimmel asked Steve if he wished that men would read his book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man before dating his daughters. “I think it’s better if my daughters would read the damn book,” he said. “They can make decisions on their own. I’m just happy that I can at least approve of one [of their boyfriends].”

Steve joked that he had “pure hatred” for some of Lori’s exes, so we don’t know if that's directed at Future or Diddy. We’re just happy that MBJ is in his good books.

Lori and MBJ first sparked dating rumours in November when they stepped off a plane in matching sweatsuits in Atlanta. The celebs, who both live in Los Angeles, were in Buckhead to spend Thanksgiving at Steve's mansion. After weeks of speculation from fans and everyone on social media, Michael and Lori went public with their relationship in early January.

A source told People that they "wanted to get to know each other in private" before confirming the news. The source added that they were both very careful "about being photographed together." This week, another source told the outlet that the couple "have gotten serious quickly."

"Michael has charmed her and is treating her like a queen," the source added. "Lori seems very happy."
