Pedro Pascal is showing some sweet support of his sister Lux. This week, The Mandalorian star (who is also known for roles on Game of Thrones and Wonder Woman 1984), took to Instagram to share his love for his sister after she publicly came out as transgender.

“Mi hermana, mi corazón, neustra Lux,” he wrote in Spanish, which translates to “My sister, my heart, our Lux.” He also shared her February cover of the Chilean magazine Revista Ya, in which Lux opened up about her transition. The 28-year-old had previously come out as non-binary, but revealed in the interview that she has been in the process of transitioning for the past year.

“I had already been talking about it with my entire family, little by little, like coming out of the closet as non-binary for about three years," she said, according to Remezcla, which translated the interview. "But now it was much more, I can finally say that I am a woman,” she continued.

“My transition has been something that’s very natural for everyone in my family,” she added, as per People, who also translated the interview. “It’s almost something that they expected to happen.”

According to Lux, that includes Pedro. “[He] has been an important part of this. He’s also an artist and has served as a guide for me. He was one of the first people to gift me the tools that started shaping my identity,” she added. “Moving through the world as a woman is much more simple for me. But I still advocate for non-binary identities to have a space in society.”

Lux is currently studying acting at Julliard in New York. She began receiving hormone treatments last July. In the Ya interview Lux also recalled coming out to Pedro during a FaceTime call.

“[He] asked me how I felt, because I remember he was a little worried,” she recalled. When she informed her brother that she was indeed happy, Pedro was quick to share the love. “Perfect, this is incredible,” Lux recalls him as saying.

Now that Lux has shared her story with the world, she’s hoping to foster more conversations and to bring positive representation to the trans community. She considers herself an activist and acknowledges that not all members of her community have had the kind of support she has.

“We need trans activists who are good, smart, informed and who can be strong voices against transphobia, homophobia and racism,” she said. “I have had a certain form of privilege because I have been able to make my transition hidden and with support. LGBTQ+ equality movement has been led by the most marginalized of voices, those who at the end of the day, had nothing to lose because they had already been deprived [of] everything. I have been very fortunate.”

Although Lux is currently studying acting, she has already built up a pretty notable resume, having appeared in series like Narcos, The Pack and Invisible Heroes. She also starred in the Chilean dramas Los 80s and Juana Brava, and is in pre-production on the upcoming thriller She Never Smiled for Pictures
