Picture it: Gigi Hadid walks to work, but she’s 5 stories tall and she’s pixelated!
To celebrate her new March Vogue cover, the mag teamed up with supermodel (and new mom) Gigi Hadid to make her very own video game called “Gigi Play,” where she goes on a fashion quest in the 5-level game to earn “Gigi Cache” for each side quest.
Playing from her own couch, we are treated to Gigi-picture-in-picture as we watch her play and give commentary while we explore the game with her. Of course, the game had to start with her waking up next to a cute portrait of her and Zayn Malik.
We see real Gigi laugh and gasp her way through the levels as pixelated-Gigi goes grocery shopping for Penne alla Vodka ingredients (from her Instagram recipe), rides a horse side-saddle, and tries on different outfits that give her special powers – like the pink flower dress that turns her into the abominable supermodel – a 5-story-high final boss strutting through lower Manhattan to get to her Spring street studios (knocking over a billboard on her way). Another outfit allows her to fly, earning bonus Gigi Cache. When she’s completed all the levels, her big prize at the end is a copy of her own Vogue cover.
"So major," real Gigi hooted as she won. "She's a winner!"

Naturally, the video quickly became a trending topic on Twitter.
Director Alana O'Herlihy and stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson worked with programmers to design the game, released just in time for Gigi’s Vogue cover story. For her cover, she talks about new motherhood to her daughter Khai with Zayn, and what home birthing was like for her.
Admitting she had to "dig deep" during Khai’s birth, Gigi says in the interview she "knew it was going to be the craziest pain in my life, but you have to surrender to it and be like, 'This is what it is.' I loved that."
"There definitely was a point where I was like, 'I wonder what it would be like with an epidural, how it would be different,'” she said. “My midwife looked at me and was like, 'You're doing it. No one can help you. You're past the point of the epidural anyway, so you'd be pushing exactly the same way in a hospital bed.'"
With Zayn by her side, she says, "It didn't even click that she was out. I was so exhausted, and I looked up and he's holding her. It was so cute," she recalled. Also with her during the birth was her mother, her assistant, her midwife, and sister Bella. But she’s not interested in having another child jussst yet.
"Afterward, Z and I looked at each other and were like, 'We can have some time before we do that again!'"
Anyway, we think we know what little Khai’s favourite video game is going to be.
