Elizabeth Chambers has broken her silence about ex-husband Armie Hammer, weeks after an anonymous Instagram account shared supposed messages from the actor revealing alleged sexual assault and emotional abuse.

The television personality previously refused to comment in the wake of the allegations, but on February 1 she took to Instagram to share a written post explaining her view of the situtation. “For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired. I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated,” she wrote in the caption of a beach sunset photo. “Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know.”

In mid-January an Instagram account named House of Effie revealed direct messages supposedly from Hammer to other women that detailed sexual fantasies including BDSM and cannibalism.

Since then, other women who have been romantically linked to Hammer have also spoken out about their experiences with the actor, many corroborating the messages and saying they believe the accusers. Chambers says explicitly she, too, supports any victim of assault or abuse.

“I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal,” she continued in her post. “At this time, I will not be commenting further on this matter. My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for all of the love and support, and thank you in advance for your continued kindness, respect, and consideration for our children and me as we find ways to move forward.”

Chambers and Hammer share two children together, Harper, 6, and Ford, 4. The couple married back in May 2010, and spent 10 years together before announcing their decision to split via their respective Instagram accounts last summer. “Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents,” their statement read. “It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage.”

Shortly after the abuse allegations were made public and supported by other women with ties to Hammer, the actor dropped out of his role alongside Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming film Shotgun Wedding (Josh Duhamel is rumoured to be his replacement). In the following weeks he also departed his two upcoming TV series, Gaslit and The Offer, though denied the moves were linked to the allegations.

“I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” Hammer said in a statement after leaving Shotgun Wedding. “Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.” Lionsgate later confirmed the decision to drop out of the film was indeed Hammer’s and he was not fired as some speculated.

In 2013, three years into his marriage with Chambers, Hammer opened up during a Playboy interview about his penchant for rough sex and how his tastes changed following marriage. “I liked the grabbing of the neck and the hair and all that. But then you get married and your sexual appetites change,” he said. “And I mean that for the better—it’s not like I’m suffering in any way. But you can’t really pull your wife’s hair. It gets to a point where you say, ‘I respect you too much to do these things that I kind of want to do.'”

He later revealed that he had been drinking during the interview when he said those things. “Let’s just say hindsight is 20/20,” Hammer told E! News. “Don’t drink during an interview.”

The actor still has several films on the horizon, including the already-filmed Death on the Nile, Crisis, and Next Goal Wins. At time of press, it’s unclear whether he will continue with two of his other previously announced projects, The Billion Dollar Spy alongside Mads Mikkelsen and the tentatively titled Find Me, AKA the anticipated Call Me By Your Name sequel.
