Looks like Zoe Kravitz and Karl Glusman weren’t able to make it out of 2020 intact as a couple. The High Fidelity star has filed for divorce from her actor husband, not even two years since tying the knot.
According to People, Kravitz officially filed the paperwork just days before Christmas, on December 23. A rep for the actor later confirmed to the publication that the couple has indeed split up. At time of press neither Kravitz nor Glusman have commented on their split to the press or on social media, although Kravitz did post a string of photos on her Instagram account with the caption, “new year. little things.” She also posted a meme on her Instagram stories showing a person (labelled "The Universe") putting a bag of trash in the dumpster (labelled “People places and things that no longer serve my greatest and highest good”) as per Us Magazine. “Mood,” Kravitz added as her caption.
Kravitz and Glusman were first romantically linked in the fall of 2016 after meeting through a mutual friend, and they dated for three years before getting hitched in a secret ceremony in May 2019. A month later they said their vows for a second time, this time at her father, Lenny Kravitz’s, French home. Kravtiz’s mom, Lisa Bonet, and her stepfather, Jason Momoa, were also in attendance, as were a slew of Hollywood stars like Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, and all of Kravitz’s Big Little Lies co-stars (including Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon).
This past year has been difficult for many couples in quarantine, as people everywhere were forced to spend more time in each other’s company than they may have otherwise. Meanwhile Kravitz has also been busy filming her role as Catwoman in the upcoming The Batman movie alongside Robert Pattinson, and Glusman recently spent time working on a new film called Please Baby Please, co-starring Demi Moore.

Still, the news comes as a bit of a shock to fans who thought that things were going just swell for the two. Although to be fair no one had any reason to suspect otherwise—as recently as last summer the pair shared sweet tributes to her each other online for their one-year anniversary. “One year,” Kravitz posted on Instagram along with a black-and-white photograph from the big day.
At the time Glusman, who has since removed all previous Instagram posts, also celebrated the occasion online. “One year,” he wrote, as per People. “Not the year we expected... but I feel like if we can make it through this, we can take on anything,” he wrote. “I love you. More than anything. You’re my best friend... you crack me up and you melt my heart... you call me out on my bulls--- and you challenge me to grow... I love you for that. And I’ll do anything and everything for you until the day I die,” he continued. “Now let’s go save the world @zoeisabellakravitz.”
Well, it looks like they may no longer be taking on the world together, but here’s hoping that 2021 is looking up for both of them.
