Well, that puts an official end to the speculation. Over the weekend People’s Sexiest Man Alive, Michael B. Jordan, and model Lori Harvey confirmed all of the dating rumours out there when they made their relationship Instagram official. Cue fans swooning around the world.
On January 10 both Jordan and Harvey took to their respective accounts to share separate couple pictures, which basically lit the Internet on fire. In Jordan’s post the Black Panther star shared two snaps of himself and Harvey, and although they were a little blurry and without a caption, he tagged both his gal and photographer/creative director Leo Volcy.
For her part, Harvey (adoptive daughter of that Steve Harvey, who married Lori’s mother Marjorie Bridges in 2007) shared a sweet Polaroid collage. In the first picture she’s smiling with her eyes closed as Jordan kisses her on the cheek, and in the second she and Jordan are posing in front of a Christmas tree.
At time of press neither of the personalities nor their respective camps have commented on the relationship, but those pictures definitely took any lingering doubts of their coupledom away from fans. Harvey, 24, and Jordan, 33, were first romantically linked last November when they were spotted arriving at an Atlanta airport together for the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. They were also seen travelling in Salt Lake City over the New Year, and later they also posted snowboarding content to their Instagram stories that appeared to be captured from the same location.
Jordan previously opened up about what he’s looking for in a partner when People named him Sexiest Man Alive. “A sense of humour, true understanding,” he listed in response to a question about which traits he thinks are the most important for a successful relationship. “Because [an actor’s] life is not conducive to a relationship—it’s really not,” he added. “Somebody that’s nurturing. I’ve got a list… That’s probably why my ass is still single, but yeah, it’s a list.”
That butt is no longer single, but a new and exciting relationship is not the only thing Jordan has to look forward to in 2021. The actor is also set to star in the upcoming big screen adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, in which he’ll play a former Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative. He’s also continuing his work with the Change Hollywood initiative, which he launched in conjunction with Color of Change last year. And he has a slew of other projects lined up, including a third Creed movie, the starring role in Wrong Answer from director Ryan Coogler and writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, and the main gig in director Danny Boyle’s survivalist action adventure flick Methuselah.
Here’s hoping he’ll get the chance to walk at least one of those (COVID-free) red carpets with his new gal in the very near future.
