Prince Harry says defeating racism will require 'every single person on the planet'

Speaking with the president of the Color Of Change organization over the weekend via video-chat, Prince Harry spoke about the challenges faced when trying to solve systemic racism and discrimination in all aspects of life. A snippet of the interview was posted to the Color Of Change Instagram account, and the Duke of Sussex said that, in no uncertain terms, every single person on the planet is tasked with ending racism.“As we've discussed before, it is going to take every single one of us, this is not just down to the Black community, it's going to take every single person on the planet right now,” Harry said, seemingly from his temporary stay at Tyler Perry’s home in California along with his wife Meghan Markle, and their one-year-old son, Archie.

The problems already exist, and are too big,” he told Rashad Robinson, president of Color Of Change. “As I've said to you before, it's like bringing a bucket of water to a forest fire.”He continued, “We have to go to the root of the problem, the source of the problem, and actually fix it there.”He also praised the younger generation of activists, protesters, and game-changers who are on the ground and putting their words into action, rather than just supplying lip-service. “To be led by the younger generation, this movement is anyway, and to be able to act rather than just say. You can’t just say, ‘Oh I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do that.’ It's like okay so you've said it and now you've got to follow through with it.”The full interview, which has yet to be posted, apparently also includes this quote from Harry which was included in the Instagram caption, “Inequality is not unfortunate like a car accident, it has been manufactured.”The chat comes on the heels of Harry writing an opinion piece for Fast Company, where he posits that social media is far too often being used as a catalyst for hate-mongering rather than compassion and forward thinking.“Social media is dividing us.
