Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig and Avi Rothman haven’t been quarantining alone, it seems. Following a cryptic Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live in May, in which Wiig alluded to potentially becoming a mom, Us Weekly confirms that the actor and her fiancé have welcomed not one, but two new babies into their household. The publication reveals that the couple welcomed twins via a surrogate earlier this year, although further details—like gender, age and dates—remain unclear. Fans first thought something might be up following the May 20 episode of SNL: At Home, when host Wiig paid a special tribute to her own mom. “This is the Mother’s Day show, and at SNL, it’s a very special time to celebrate moms,” Wiig said. “Unfortunately, probably like a lot of you, I can’t be with my mom on this Mother’s Day. So, I hope it’s OK, I would like to tell her I love her.”Wiig then added, “I don’t know if I truly appreciated my mom the first 45 years of my life. But this year I’m feeling especially grateful for her advice, her love. I’m so thankful for all the things she’s taught me, like preparing me to be a mom myself.” Of course Wiig is always one to keep it light, and so she listed breastfeeding as one of those lessons. “Babies love that chicken, she would always say that,” the 46-year-old added, holding up a plate of cooked chicken breasts.Wiig and Rothman have a notoriously private personal life, so fans shouldn’t be completely surprised they welcomed babies away from the spotlight. The duo became engaged last year after dating for more than three years, but their engagement wasn’t reported until after the fact. As for their overall relationship timeline, they were first spotted together during a trip to Hawaii in 2016, when a source confirmed to People that they’d been “secretly dating for a few months.”As far as fans know, there’s no confirmed trip down the aisle planned just yet; the couple could be one of those pairs that just stay engaged indefinitely. Back in 2011, Wiig admitted she’s not sure if she really ever wants to tie the knot again, having divorced from first husband Hayes Hargrove after four years of marriage in 2009.“I probably won’t ever get married [again]; it’s not something that I would want to do,” Wiig told Stella at the time, according to the Us Weekly article. “[In Bridesmaids we were careful] to not send the message that you need to get married. I think women put that pressure on themselves, maybe even more than society does, but if you’re the single girl at the wedding, you know someone is going to ask you when you’re going to get married.”One thing’s for sure: if Wiig does get hitched again fans, probably won’t know about it until months after the fact.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: This corgi is ridiculously jealous of the new baby addition[/video_embed]
