Thanks to Britney Spears, we now know that after the ‘hair colour’ phase of quarantine is the ‘dance to your ex-boyfriend’s music’ phase. Let’s hope this pandemic ends soon, because we are not ready to be that forgiving. Spears is keeping her spirits high while physical distancing by getting physical and dancing to ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake’s music. And yes, she knows it’s been almost two decades since their infamous breakup, but she also knows a jam when she hears one. Haters gonna say it’s fake.A longtime fan of selfie dance videos, Spears posted her latest on Tuesday and surprised fans with her playlist. Showing she can rock in Birkenstocks, Spears did an impromptu dance performance on her deck while Timberlake’s 2018 single “Filthy” played over the clip. “This is my version of Snapchat or TikTok or whatever the cool thing you're supposed to do these days,” writes Spears. “As you can see I’m not really dancing folks …… I’m just very bored.” The singer continues, noting that she is aware of whose song she is not-dancing-but-still-definitely-dancing to, writing “PS I know we had one of the world's biggest breakups 20 years ago …… but hey the man is a genius !!!! Great song JT!!!! Pssss if you KNOW WHAT'S GOOD!!!!!!”
Spears upped the dancing for her second video, giving Timberlake’s “Filthy” another play while she performed an impressive 14 spins in bare feet. Defying both splinters and the rules of breakups, Spears celebrated her exes’ accomplishments and Timberlake showed his appreciation with emojis, commenting with a laughing/crying face and three hand praise emojis. Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears also jumped in the comments to state the obvious, writing "Blogs are already plotting their outrageous stories. You keep having fun and looking cute tho!!"

In a 2013 interview with Today, Spears called Timberlake’s music “different, fresh and inspiring.” In 2016, Spears appeared on Most Requested Live With Romeo and said that she would be interested in collaborating with her famous ex. Timberlake responded to Spears’ invitation on the TIFF red carpet that year, saying he would ‘absolutely’ be down for a duet.
